I have used these for over a year and they work well, and they are gentle on my system when used as directed.

Senna is actually leaf extract so still considered natural laxative. Sure, it doesn't work as well vs other synthetic (more potent) laxative, but many would prefer something that works but still in a natural way. Couple with stool softener (docusate sodium) and plenty of water, one may just solve the constipation issue without those annoying side effects. This particular brand is also great because unlike the Major brand, it doesn't have awful smell each time you opened the bottle. Did I mention price is also affordable? Capital E for Effective!!The instructions say to take two at night and you’ll probably go by morning. Well, they are probably very right about that.The next time I tried it, I tried just one. That was a little more predictable experience.They definitely deliver on their promise of “making you go”.

I did not realize what an amazing deal this purchase was until yesterday, when I visited a national chain drugstore (CVS) and noticed that their house brand - same product, same strength - was around $10 for 50 pills."Wow!" I thunk gloatingly to myself "That means my bottle of one thousand pills is worth $200.00! I just can't wait to tell Mom!"As for the product itself, it does what it says on the package - you can take anywhere between 2 and 8 each day, and it's okay to mix with other related supplements, like like docusate sodium (stool softener). You can buy pills which have both ingredients mixed together, but I prefer separate pills, because that allows more control over dosage, and does not require me to take one product every time I take the other. I recently had major surgery followed by major opiate pain killers - The hospital required me to take senna, but now I'm taking it on my own, because it just makes good sense.
