Solid keyboard backed by even better customer service.
I purchased the RK ROYAL KLUDGE RK87 Sink87G RGB in January 2025 and was genuinely impressed right out of the box. The build quality felt solid, the typing experience was smooth and responsive, and the keyboard back lighting was customizable and vibrant without being over-the-top (even though I only use white). At this price point, it honestly felt like a great value — better than some more expensive boards I have used.Over the next couple of months, though, I started noticing some minor issues — a keystroke would occasionally not register, or it would double-type. It wasn’t consistent, and at first, I figured it might just be me. But the issue slowly became more frequent, and eventually, I knew something was off.I decided to contact Royal Kludge support — not expecting much, to be honest. Maybe a canned response, or a small discount toward a future purchase. What I got instead totally surprised me.Their customer service team was incredibly responsive and genuinely helpful. They didn’t just go through the motions — they took the time to listen to what I had already tried and then offered new, detailed troubleshooting steps that showed they actually understood the product and cared about solving the issue. When that didn’t fix it, I reached back out — and the very next day, they had a replacement unit in the mail to me. No hassle, no arguments, just a clear commitment to standing behind their product. In short: the keyboard itself is great — well-built, stylish, and enjoyable to use. But what really sets Royal Kludge apart is their after-sale support. It's rare these days to find a company that doesn't just make good hardware, but also supports it so well after the sale. That kind of experience builds trust, and it's why I’ll definitely be buying from them again. If you’re on the fence about trying one of their products, I can say from experience: not only are they worth it — you’ll be taken care of if something goes wrong.

Very good keyboard for your buck.
Did I need a keyboard? No. Did I want a keyboard to put custom kittypaw keycaps on? YES.This keyboard is easy to customize, but because not everyone wants to waste their money on keycaps I will say that his keyboard is worth it for the quality alone. It's heavyweight, giving it a sturdy, well-made feel when you type with it. It doesn't slide around my desk like my old keyboard did, and I really like that it stays put.I connect it via bluetooth, and I have not noticed any issues with it disconnecting randomly. I don't notice any lag when using this keyboard at all. I also found that I could replace my keycaps and switches very easily and the custom caps fit well. The backlight took some getting use to. I barely use the backlight function, as I usually type in well lit rooms. You can set it to one color, or rainbow, and it has different lighting effects too.I think this keyboard will be a good upgrade for a beginner keycap hobbyist, or for anyone who likes a sturdy, quality keyboard for a good price.

Pretty keyboard. A bit loud and needs charging constantly, but a good buy.
Love the look of this keyboard and a decent price. Keys are a bit loud but I don't mind it. Wireless connection lasts for shorter amount of time than I expected. Does what I need it to and gets the job done.

Great keyboard!!
This keyboard is great, perfect for my white gaming set-up. The backlit keys look great and keys have a nice sound when typing. Couldn’t be happier with this!

First non-mainstream mechanical keyboard. So far so good.
This keyboard has everything I needed and after modifying it, it is even better than I was hoping for. Being my first "custom" keyboard though you might take my opinion with a grain of salt as I've been exposed to only mainstream offerings thus far. I recommend it if you think your use case is similar to mine. More details below. The wireless has been great and worked without issue AFTER I figured out I didn't have the dongle plugged in all the way. The lights won't even turn on on the keyboard without some sort of communication between it and the receiver. That is an important note. I use this device for gaming as well so I didn't want to go with a bluetooth offering since that can provide a lot of hassle I wasn't interested in, however this also doesn't claim to be a super low latency and I don't game competitively so it works well enough for me.This was worth noting for me as quite important; the keyboard has a charging indicator underneath the spacebar which lights RED when charging, however, there is no other indication of battery life. Nothing on the keyboard nor in the software. Not knowing the battery level can be kind of detrimental, especially since when I opened up the keyboard for the modifications the battery was miniscule inside. As it stands, I charge mine every night and keep the backlight at the 2nd to lowest settings most of the time and haven't had issues. Additionally, powering it off between uses.RK Gaming is the software you can download for this keyboard and it includes rudimentary settings. Firstly, this only works over a wired connection to your PC and not wireless. You can only set a few custom keystrokes with the Function (FN) key and nothing else. You can set a "Game Mode" setting which can disable a few keys. The lighting options are limited. You have some cool effects available but you can only change a "basic" color on many of them. There are up to 9, I believe, custom lighting modes but no animations can be set to these and the color palette can only be chosen between the set and not custom. For me, the biggest qualm I have with this keyboard is the thin and cheap power switch on the bottom of the keyboard. Coming from my Logitech G613 which has a great power button on the side this is quite a step down. This is not only less convenient to operate being on the bottom but also less comfortable. The charging port is a Type-C. I wouldn't buy a keyboard with a Micro-USB charging port nowadays so I'm glad to see this.Overall, the lighting is great, the switches work well and have zero problems, the standard cherry switches and stems make upgrades easy, the bottom row size is also standard and the keyboard configuration, while rudimentary, is functional. Definitely recommended.
