Amazing Game, Amazing Physical Collection
I love turn based strategy in general, but I was new to the X-COM series, and I did not know what to expect. I am really happy I decided to try this game! First, this collection comes with two discs that include both games and the add-ons. There are no "redeemable codes" for digital content (which I hate, as they can only be redeemed once in one account). At the time of this review I have completed the X-COM2 base game, and I loved every second of it. The strategy of the game is deep, and the customization of characters is enough to make me feel that my squad was truly unique. The resource/base management outside of combat is interesting enough to keep me engaged, without being complicated to distract me from the core of the game (the skirmish style battles). I felt that the game always gave me enough things to do to keep me busy, even too much at times, and I ended spending 25+ hours to finish my first playthrough without even realizing it.I have not yet played War of the Chosen. For those not familiar, is not really an extension of the game, but more of a revamp. It tells the same story in a different way, and add new units and mechanics that are enough to make it feel like a different game.

Loved this game so much!
I can't recommend this game enough! I've spent countless hours on it, and I haven't even started War of Chosen yet. If u like turn based strategy games, this is the game for u! Playing Mutant Year Zero gave me the itch to play more turn based strategy games, and this delivers in spades. Way more complex than it might first seem. Only 2 negatives, it would definitely glitch sometimes and I would have to restart, but the forgiving auto save features kept it from destroying my experience because I would just restart like basically right where I was. The other negative is that the beginning of the game can be very hard until u start really upgrading ur characters. I died a lot. But once ur characters get better, its gets easier. I also had this those 2 negatives with Mutant Year zero btw. So maybe its just a Turn based strategy thing? But anyway, I recommend

The better choise.
All this content for this price you cant beat it. Honestly i got this as a backup to fill in for my inferior PS4 edition.it no secret X- Com 2 is very buggy game and some times unplayable. the Xbox version is a lot better in the long run the lagging PS4 version.

You don't own the DLC
I had to uninstall the game and reinstall it on the xbox series x and it doesn't show that I own the DLC. The base game is really boring without the DLC. I contacted 2K games to see if they'd help me out with my issue and they wanted me to record a video of the issue I was having, upload the video to my YouTube channel then send them a link of the video. WTF?! is this really their customer support procedure? It's not cool.

Great game with a broken port - Turn off autosave for added stability
The game crashes CONSTANTLY. When the game works (which is intermittently) its a lot of fun, with a lot of good added content compared to the first. The load times are terrible though,, so when you get a crash you will be sitting on your hands for ten minutes before you are playing again. You can improve this by turning off the auto-save feature. For some reason this reduces crashes.DO NOT TRY TO PLAY IRONMAN. The game also has a nasty habit of deleting saves, and on Ironman you only have one of those. You're SOL when its gone. Or you wind up stuck with a recurring crashing bug, and have to reload back several missions to before it cropped up in your game. Can't do that on Ironman.Whoever shipped this without fixing the massive amount of crashing bugs really deserves to be fired...out of a cannon into the sun. I truly pity anyone who paid more than $20 for this.

VERY DIFFICULT
I thought I would enjoy this game because I like turn based strategy games where you have a squad and move them around tiles like this. It is very similar to Gears Tactics and Advance Wars which I am a huge fan of both. I liked the game at first and was enjoying it, but it got very difficult rather quickly. You basically had to beat a level without any of your guys getting hurt or else it would just make the next mission even harder. As you beat levels your characters gain experience and get better but if they die you lose them forever and if they get hurt you have to wait a bit to use them in another mission. So as you get further into the game and it gets increasingly difficult, you want to have your guys as good as possible, and if they keep dying or are hurt then the game is just that more difficult.I think I only paid $10 or $20 bucks for the game so I’m not too disappointed, but I don’t think I’ll ever be giving the game another try. I only recommend this game if you are up for a big challenge and like turn based squad games.
