Better than Milwaukee Fastback
This is much better than my Fastback.A very compact and light utility knife. I love the stability screw holding the blade firm from wiggling. The knife comes with a tool that works with the knurled know to tighten our loosen the retaining screw. Personally, once I've loosened the screw with the tool, I find it can hand tighten the screw well enough to keep the blade firm and still manually loosen it without the tool, although the tool is a nice touch for those who really want to crank down on the blade or keep your fingers safely away from thr blade. Just be careful not to lose the retaining screw tool because it doesn't load into the knife body, it's completely separateOne of my biggest complaint about the Fastback solved by this knife is lost tool bits. I constantly lose the Fastback tool bit, but don't have a problem losing the bit because it is fully captured in the body when closed. The Fastback tool bit is always exposed and uses an unreliable spring collar to keep the tool but retained.Action is smooth and effortless and the blade locks open until you pull the release lever. The clip on the knife is smooth and doesn't snag my pant pocket. I am tempted to get a couple more as gifts.

Perfect evolution of an already great knife.
Having purchased the original version of this knife I had to try this one out. Now I’m a big fan of the Milwaukee fastback knives but they do tend to be a bit bulky for every day carry. As usual the build quality is wonderful on this. I purchased the carbon fiber version. I like the fact that the handle on this one is longer than the original, which was obviously needed to incorporate the bit driver. The bit driver itself takes smaller 4 mm bits, but this is no problem as I have a ton of those just laying around. I like the deployment of the bit driver as it uses a plunge lock so you can just flick it out or you can use your hand to open it. This is not necessarily as heavy duty as a Milwaukee, but it keeps all of the basics that you need in a lightweight form factor. The only thing that I miss from the Milwaukee is that you could store an extra blade on that one however that’s not really a big deal. I love how much cutting area you have available due to the blade locking mechanism. Some people don’t like how tight the little wheel can get, but seeing how as I typically have a Leatherman or some other type of tool with me I can easily tighten or loosen it. In my experience at least I have found that I don’t necessarily have to tighten it down with a tool as typically just hand tightening is enough to keep the blade in there without it rattling or coming loose. This is another wonderful tool from this company, and I plan on buying some more of these to have his back up and to give us gifts once they come back into stock out of all the utility knives I have this is probably my new favorite.

Well built!
This is a great knife to slide into your pocket with the strong clip. Won't fall out. You'll forget it was even there, but it works great and you just swap the blade. EXCELLENT PRODUCT!

Pretty good could use refinement for version 2.0
I love the overall design and it's durable. Sadly the ph1 bit size is fairly useless in my line of work and using a tool to swap blades isn't practical )to slow and u have to carry the tool) otherwise id give it 5 stars. Would like a version 2.0 with a ph2 and maybe tweezers and pick in grips like a lot of others do now

well made and designed. great price.
good utility knife and very good price. both the blade and driver are solid open or closed. accessing and locking either tool is easy, quick and smooth. the thumb screw for the blade may need a tool to loosen at times as it can be difficult to use just thumb and finger if overtightened slightly. high value utility knife

Best compact EDC Utility Knife on the Market
The original U1 was already well-regarded. In a KnifeCenter video comparison of 14 EDC utility knives, it tied for first. It was one-point shy of a perfect score because it had no extra tools.Well the U1 Pro addresses that by adding a locking 4mm bit driver. Which makes the U1 Pro the best compact EDC utility knife on the market. Yes, the Milwaukee Fastback has even more features. But it is nearly twice as heavy, and an inch longer. The pocket clip on the U1 Pro is deeper carry too.To me, the U1 Pro is perfect. It is very comfortable in the hand. Some observations:1. The action is great on the knife. On the screwdriver, I was able the thumb flick it once, but usually just a controlled open. Note: I had to oil the knife to get the action to work correctly on the screwdriver. Now it flips open and closed with the button.2. I was actually able to extend the blade by using the second top slot. There was no blade play, and the knife closed properly. I am not sure when having 98% of the blade would make a difference vs 85% of the blade, but it's possible.3. The bit is labeled PH0/SL3.5. I have this same bit from another Olight product, and the Phillips on the U1 Pro looks a touch bigger. Maybe closer to PH1. YMMV.4. My Hoto double-sided bits are the same size, and also magnetically retain in the U1 Pro.5. The Victorinox Cybertool bits are a little shorter, which allows the ball detent to engage and so they work too. I find the Victorinox bits to be a little larger than the Olight/Hoto bits. The main Vic bit is PH2/SL4, and it goes up to Torx 15 (vs T8 for Olight) and Hex 4 (vs Hex 2.5 for Olight).6. I could not shake the blade open, and I could not shake the screwdriver open. Once deployed, the blade lock up is excellent - zero blade play.7. I'll probably carry an Olight Opry as a complement to the U1 Pro in order to have access to a couple more double-sided bits. Some of the Opry models store 2 or 3 double-sided 4mm bits.
