It's a great book for starting coin collecting.
This book really helped me get started with coin collecting. The author explains everything in simple terms so you don't get confused by all the fancy coin words. I like how it shows pictures of different coins and tells you what they're worth. The tips about where to find coins and how to spot fake ones are really useful. Good value for the money and now I feel confident buying my first coins.

Lots of Good Information Combined with Some VERY Niche Information
This book is pretty good and coin collecting enthusiasts (and those who may soon become interested in the hobby) will likely find some value (no pun intended!) in it. However, due to the wide range of information provided, I can imagine that there will be sections that readers are MUCH more interested in others. For example, as someone uninitiated in coin collecting, I found the section discussing assessing and grading coins to be interesting and would presume it would be VERY important information to serious collectors. On the other hand, the section on the most influential coin designers of all times seems like a bit of a reach outside of those with truly novel interests. There are many such sections throughout the book that seem less relevant to MOST collectors and only truly relevant to a select group.Overall, the organization and writing are good and there are a number of free bonuses included with the purchase of the book, adding additional value to it. Except your eyes to glaze over during certain sections, but there is a lot of "gold" (pun INTENDED!) throughout.

Looks like it was written by a student for a school assignment
The media could not be loaded. This book has a great cover and was rated as a “Best Seller” by Amazon so I went ahead and purchased it along with the official red book and blue book.Upon opening the book, I was a bit taken back by the formatting with large font and double spacing but figured the author might be trying to capture an older audience so I continued to flip through. There are minimal photos in the book besides stock photos and some QR codes can be found for the reader to scan and look up online. This completely defeats the purpose of me buying a book. Coin collecting knowledge can be found everywhere online but I prefer a book which is why I bought it. I don’t want to have to go and get my phone to look up a coin or reference other materials - I could have done that without bothering to purchase this book. In the least, the author could have provided some quality photos of a few key, “must have” or important coins to know. While flipping through, I stopped on an occasional page to read a few sentences to see if my initial reaction to the book was a bit too harsh but no…. Paragraph headers on one page with the subject paragraph on the other and half of page is blank so it was not for lack of room. There does not appear to be a personal perspective or any depth to the material just repetitive drawn out wordy points that don’t really say anything of substance and borders on patronizing. It very much seems like AI wrote this book and it was pieced together (in a disorganized manner) and put to print. If you are looking for a good reference book for a beginner, this is not it.
