Improved laptop performance
It's been around 3 weeks now and I am really happy with my laptop temperatures after using PTM!For context, I have an Asus Rog Stryx laptop which uses liquid metal on the GPU and CPU. When I first bought it I didn't know much about liquid metal but thought it sounded interesting and was even quite excited to have a laptop with it. Boy was I wrong...After about 2 years of using my laptop and not having any issues, the laptop started shutting off while playing certain games. I tried seeing if I can sort the issue out through software changes but soon realized the issue ran deeper than that. It was clearly overheating and shutting down to save itself.I then opened the bugger and as you can see from the second photo, the liquid metal was anywhere but on the bloody GPU or CPU, hence crispy black spots in the middle.I did a lot of reading and decided to not use my familiar thermal paste but instead go for PTM and I'm glad I did.I won't lie to you putting it on is tricky. I bought 2 sheets for my GPU and CPU as it was my first time using it and I knew I needed to have space for error which I had. I recommend putting it in the fridge before using as it tends to soften up in your hands. Plenty of YouTube tutorials out there on this. Finally got it on as you can see on the first photo and put some thermal sheets on my VRAM and VRMs before closing it off. Temperature-wise, don't expect a huge drop, especially on your laptop as gaming laptops tend to have high temps. What was important for me is that the PTM keeps temps in the safe boundaries and saves my CPU and GPU and that it does.Overall, the quality of the PTM and packaging was really good and since I was able to do this myself rather than sending to a repair shop I got more than my money's worth. Would highly recommend!

Tricky to apply but worth the results.
I used it to re-paste my RTX 4090 that suffered from paste blow out. It's really tricky to apply (DO NOT HANDLE IT WITH YOUR FINGERS OR IT'S GAME OVER) but since I've re-pasted my 4090 the temperatures are kept below 80C on full load.

Amazing stuff
almost unbelievable results. how ever, there is definitly a skill to applying, very tricky to do it right, i messed up a few times before nailing it. i have used it on everything now, best results on the laptop cpu and gpu and pc gpu. probably not not any better than normal compound for a regualar cpu on a pc though. seems to work best on direct die

Highly effective. Very expensive as a solution.
Temperature wise it seems to be more effective than standard thermal paste by a few degrees. However you only get enough for one CPU application and it is difficult to apply so I doubt it will be reuseable. On balance is a good product but the cost/benefit ratio is not amazing.

Awful. Do Not Buy
The thermal material would not separate from the film applicator. Also part of the applicator tore off

You get one shot, don't f it up
I cut it to size, peeled one side off, stuck it to the cpu, as i was very slowly pulling of the other side it pulled up, detached and folded on its self...epic damn waste. Theres no recovering from that as it sticks to its self like superglue. I wasted my money, applying this is more unforgiving that liquid metal. Honestly wouldn't advise it as a solution.
