Great value
Can't beat the cost on this. That gives it 5 stars, despite the downsides: a bit too much exposure, and manual focus. But even with the manual focus, I still get decent quality, non-blurry images. The exposure you can fix by playing with the lighting, I happen to have this in a well-lit printer enclosure. I'll probably buy this or the 1080p variant for future projects. This was plug-n-play on Debian Linux running Klipper.

Works quite well
I plan to use this on a project that needs to watch a process about 8mm away. These will focus down to 1 mm and up to infinity. It is not auto focus, but that is not what I expected.

Decent
Decent plug and play camera, especially for the price. Note that the field of view is more like 75 degrees, nowhere near the stated 120.

Great Camera
Just received a Raspberry Pi this past Father’s Day and have been tinkering around with various ideas as to how to best put it to use. This camera module has opened up a lot of possibilities. The construction is solid, and its compact size makes it incredibly versatile for various installations. I’m super impressed with the quality of the video. I get crisp 720p video at 30 fps, and I love that it supports the MPEG format, though I believe it supports other formats as well. It’s got a wide-angle lens that captures a broad field of view (think it’s something like 120 degrees). Very impressed with this module and highly recommend.

makeshift trailcam, or AI image recognition for catflap
There are many fun, productive uses for camera modules and the raspberry pi: the classic surveillance camera, especially with a nature twist- snapping pictures or even video of wildlife as it comes into view. With the advent of AI and image recognition, one could pair a camera with locking/unlocking apparatus to allow a cat in through a catflap while rejecting a raccoon. The possibilities are endless, and bound only be one’s imagination.Having a decent, but not high resolution, and capped at what looks like USB2 speeds, this would make for a great surveillance camera, for those above-mentioned applications. Where you don’t necessarily care about the best image quality but you want a ready, steady, image capture with enough detail to take action on.Use it within its operational constraints, and it should perform just fine.

Works great with RPi
Gets 720p, works over USB2.0, works reliably. I opted for a JST connector, wish it came with one, especially since it advertises USB. Setup was totally effortless though and the image quality isn't half bad. I've been testing it out with some object detection stuff, but it's also good for a home security cam.

OK this thing is amazing but be careful not to short it out
I played with the camera for a while before I noticed that the focus was basically infinitely adjustable. I made a microscope out of it that was incredibly powerful. However I would up shorting the camera out because of the exposed electrical connections. make sure you at least wrap it in electrical tape.

Nice quality!
This camera is great if you're looking for cross-system compatibility and don't have a CSI port for a more typical Raspberry Pi or similar camera. It includes a lens cover, which is a neat touch, and the angle coverage is quite wide! It also works perfectly fine as a webcam.
