EVA Digital Air Cooler by Livivo - One of the best
I've been using Evaporative air coolers for about 20 years now. They are great at cooling a room in the summer. When you see folks comment that they don't I think it's usually them not understanding how to use them. They are just like the Air-Con in your cars...you 'have' to keep 'all' the windows & doors shut. Then put the frozen blue blocks in and fill with water. They will drop the room temperature by several degrees & make a big difference when you're trying to sleep in summer.Like most things they have their limits and have a maximum airflow rate so if you have large rooms you might need two of them to drop the temp enough....but they 'do' drop the temps.Anyway, my original one had finally died so I had to find a replacement.I tried a couple of brands that did not match up to my original, Signature and Igenix.I then got one of these Livivo's.Theres no model number on them but the manual has SKU AC1080 on it.A remote control (using a CR2025 buttoncell) is included, which is handy when you've gone to bed on the hot summer nights as it saves you getting up to turn it off. These are quieter than the some of the others, handy if watching a quiet film or it's in the bedroom. It has a fully removable 6 litre water tank...this is essential really as you do need to clean the tanks on a regular basis. You just rotate the 2 bits of plastic that are over the pump and it lifts out, have a jug or towel there to catch the few drips that can come out whilst you're cleaning the tank. And they have the usual control options you find on most of these types of fan.3 fanspeeds, oscillating or fixed, and wind - where the fans slows down & then back up to imitate a natural breeze.Theres a timer to turn it off after a set time and can be set between 1to12 hours and the cooler button that activates the pump and starts the cooling. All function can be operated from the remote or the touch buttons on the top.The fan comes with 4 blue blocks, 2 small & 2 larger ones. Now, when they arrive they are empty...or so it appears. The instructions tell you to only fill them up to the marked line which I did then froze them. Now heres the thing, after I'd used them I went to empty them to refill with cold water from the tap, only to find....they wouldn't.Turns out there is a Gel substance in there that activates on first contact with water so you only fill them once, the Gel won't shake out anyway lolRound the back near the top of the unit you'll see 2 crosshead screws. You undo these and the 2 part filter pulls out easily.Theres the thin foam dust filter and a thicker one, both of which you just run under the tap or shower to clean before refitting them.On the top of the unit just behing the row of buttons is a flap that lifts up towards the back.Under it is the little reservoir that the pump sends water up to it so it can flow down over the filter to cool the air. This space is for the smaller two blue blocks & they fit in perfectly. It adds to the cooling effect. The two larger ones go in the main tank.and that's about it.Unlike Air-con units where you can find the odd one or two that use about 1,000Watts most of them use between 2,000 & 3000WEvaps on the other hand only use the same as a normal fan. These Livivo ones are rated @ 80 watts but I've had the meter on them and they actually use about 55 Watts at full speed with the water pump & the swing feature turned on which is a considerable cost saving compared to a true Air-con.These are good, decent looking fans that are thin enough not to be obtrusive in use.I like them enough to have bought 3, one for each room that needs them in the summer, and I also bought one for a friend that wasw struggling with the heat in the summer nights so yes, I heartily recommend them.

Cool but not cool
Fan works well. Helps circulate the air and helps fight the heat, itbreally helps keep the room cool. The buttons are relatively straightforward once you've read the manual. But, the product arrived damaged at the screen. Tried arranging for a return but it is just too troublesome due to its size.Whilst it is portable in a sense, it is not the easiest to carry around. It is not quiet and it becomes obvious at night even with the night mode function. Also, the display light is quite bright and can be glaring in a dark room.Worth the £70, if the screen was not damaged.

Whew!
These fans are amazing. I was a bit dubious when I bought these but they are just the thing for people who don't like the Summer heat!We have 1 in the livingroom and one in the bedroom and I actually woke up feeling too cold and dived under my 2 tog duvet. So, yes... these fans will not disappoint.

Not easy to use
The unit was difficult to fill/empty water container and was found to be flimsy. Very poor operation, the air was not sufficiently cooled to lower the room temperature in our bedroom approx 14x14 ft. after being run for 2hrs. In fact the results were no better than a conventional fan. It is my opinion that it is a waste of money

Swing mode not smooth
Gives of nice cool air and not to loud but the swing mode is not smooth jumpy from side to side like it's got a faulty swing. Disappointing
