Gruffalo Crumble and Other Recipes: The Gruffalo Cookbook

Great children's cook book
Beautifully illustrated and I love the spiral binding so it lays flat on the work surface. The recipes are simple enough to complete with your child but very rewarding to eat. My grandson loves it.

Don't hesitate to buy this if you have young gruffalo fans.
This is a great book for children and will be perfect for my 4 year old over winter when we are looking for rainy day activities. It will probably also encourage her to eat more fruit and vegetables which are incorporated into many of the fun designs. The theming and illustrations in the book are lovely and all taken from the gruffalo books as you would expect. I like that every recipe has a picture of the finished article. The pages are good quality and thicker than most books and it is ring bound, so good for use by little hands. There are 24 receipes in 4 different sections: scrambled snake and other breakfasts, deep dark wood snacks, turned out toes and other meals and gruffalo crumble (of course!) and other sweet treats. All of the recipes are appealing to young children, are relatively straight forward and most can be made with ingredients you would be likely to have in the cupboard, maybe with the exception of gelatine for the jellies. This morning we had mouse toast and scrambled snake for breakfast and my daughter loved it. See pictures for all the recipes included, an example of one of the recipes and my version of mouse toast. All the recipes look easy to do, apart from the gruffalo cake which is a bit more creative. Really looking forward to making gruffalo crumble and owl ice cream!

Full of wonderful ideas
This is absolutely brilliant!! Such fun ideas to do with children in lockdown. Recipes are easy to follow with lots of pictures. Also good that each recipe isn’t too ingredient heavy so most things we’ve done from the book so far haven’t cost much. I’m a keen cook and baker and this gave me so many new ideas and my 3 preschoolers all love it

Educational and fun
There are four (at least I think there are only four) cookery books for children based on the wonderful Julia Donaldson stories. I conveniently have 4 grandchildren all of whom enjoy cooking with their mums so this makes an ideal gift. I can thoroughly recommend them as a way of getting a young child interested in preparing their own food.
