Works perfectly

Easy set up, instant text and email notification upon power failure and power restoration. Works perfectly as designed.I had bought a competitive product before buying this one and this one is 100 times better. Now that I have the product, I am finding I need an audible alarm as well. I have bought that functionality via another product, but if that could be an option added to this product, then this product would be the best.

Wonderful Power Monitor!!!

This is a simple and cost effective power monitoring device. I looked for a long time to find a device that is easy to set up and use, and didn't cost an arm and a leg. We use this to monitor our mountain cabin power when we are not there. We have a security system dependent on both power and the internet. When we loose our cameras, we could not tell whether the power went off or the internet went down. With this device, now we know exactly where the problem is. To ensure we get the notifications of a power failure, we also put our internet router on a small uninterruptible power supply. The Risinglink device only needs a few seconds of internet access to detect and send out the email and text notifications. It works GREAT!!! Highly recommend this device.

Setup and Test Passed!

I needed a device that could tell me when a circuit loses power, especially if I'm not at home. This little device is a jewel! I ordered it yesterday and it arrived today. I just set it up and tested it. It works perfectly.Setup was easy when following the directions. I used my laptop to connect to the device's Wi-Fi hotspot; I'm terrible at thumb typing on a phone. Once the information was entered, everything seemed to work. The test was easy. I plugged the RisingLink device into a GFCI receptacle, and the receptacle was providing power. I tried the ground fault test on the receptacle, killing the power. Shortly after that, I received both an email and a text message indicating, "POWER OFF". When I reset the GFCI, power returned, and I received another email and text saying, "POWER ON". I did not try the audible alarm as it won't really help me.Here's a note about my home network. I'm on Verizon FiOS, on their 5GHz service. My router is two floors up from the RisingLink device. There appear to be no issues with the RisingLink device connecting with my home network. So far I'm impressed with the device and the service.

I found a better product than this. This one sucks.

Don't buy this. I've had nothing but problems with it from the beginning. Offline notifications have been sporadic and has resulted in my septic pump, which it was monitoring, to have stopped twice and backed up plumbing into my house. And flooded my floors. And there is supposedly an alarm that I have set up to alert me when power is lost but it has never worked.I've contacted customer service multiple times with my issues.Apparently, I have not been online since April and when I was trying to refresh and set it up I was not able to. And now, despite repeated contacts with the customer support, they are now saying I am out of warranty.I have since found A better device that I recommend and that is Necto Cellular Temperature & Humidity Monitor. It will do the same thing to notify you with the loss of power however it is constantly connected to a cellular service without having to pay for such service. I just started it but I already recommend it because it seems to work as I need it to work to notify me of a loss of power of my circuit. For some reason my GFCI likes to trip and I have already had a professional plumber try to fix it.

These devices work (it was my network blocking their functionality) They work as expected now.

Found these here on Amazon while looking for a "connected" power monitor. When they arrived I excitedly tried to get them connected to my home network. Upon failing, I then connected them to my cellular phone hot spot and they worked seamlessly. Devices worked as expected. This led me to digging in to my home network. I of course emailed support at the same time. Throughout the day support and I exchanged emails as they suggested possible items within my network that I could check on. Finally after a lot of back and forth and my own investigation, I found a router rule that was blocking the communication. FYI - I have a sonic wall SOHO 250 and simply put in an "allowed" rule for the IP address of the device. Oh, I should tell you that support was able to provide me the MAC address that allowed me to find the IP address for my rule. I have test these now many times and have not had a failure. Bottom line, chances are its a setting on your network that may cause the devices to appear not to function. DO reach out to support - they are very helpful. I like the peace of mind knowing if the power is on/off while I am away from my home.

Cost affective way to monitor power outages.

We recently had a water back up in our basement. The reason is because I did not have a device like this plugged into the power source for our sump pump. The problem with most power monitor devices is they need internet to work. Once the power goes out the device can't communicate. I was somewhat skeptical of this monitor but not anymore. We had an outage caused by a heavy storm that went through. It notified me and my wife right away. I was able to hussle home and put our sump pump on a generator saving us the pain of another water back up. I am unsure of the negative comments on this device. I am not vary savvy with a lot of these electric gizmos and I found this very easy to set up. I am impressed with how well it worked. This is a very cost affect way to be able to monitor power fot outages. I am unable to afford a $12000.00 home base generator that oh, by the way some times don't work when you need them. Just ask my neighbors.
