Not without flaws, but perfect once set up
The media could not be loaded. This carburetor was not without its flaws. First off, the throttle arm needed to be drilled out, because the accelerator cable barrel wouldn't fit. Also, the linkage on the accelerator pump was not in proper position. The pin was not in the right spot, and I had to use vice grips to get it bent into position.Next, the fast idle screw fell out on my test drive! Luckily, I have all my engine tin, so it stayed in the engine bay, and I was able to retrieve it, and reinstall with a little blue loctite. Finally, the choke will need adjusting. It takes a long time to open all the way up, and then it doesn't stay open.I run a 009 distributor, so it was nice that this carb came with an extra (larger) idle jet and main jet. I used the larger jets for install, and got it set up. It runs great now, but it did take a while to get it going. It needed plenty of adjustment, but probably because I used the larger jets. No leaks (that's a good thing!) Smooth response, and the VW runs great. I got it up to highway speed. I took a few hills, and there is no hesitation or surge. It just runs.Overall, this is an excellent carb for the price, even with the quality issues. You can't beat the price for a working carb.

Great product
My 74 bug always sputtered a little in 3rd and 4th acceleration. Upgrading to this 37 pict instead of the standard 34 was well worth the money. It runs great now.

What is advertised is exactly what it is
Exactly what I was needing for a conversion on a 1981 Honda gl1100. Seems to be made of good quality aluminum. Shall see if the internal parts are the same. Once I fire the bike up.

Match up base to old Carburetor for size.
Forgot to match up base from old one, bolted on and started right up, vacuum leak and all!!Removed the large base plate, bolted back on and purrs like a kitten, no adjustment needed. Awesome value and works as expected.When you purchase one, compare the base to your original one, then you will know if you can bolt on, or have to use small base on carb before you install Take distributor cap off and move out of way, makes easier getting to back bolt on carburetor.

Went to a different option.
Looks nice, hooked up easily, but struggled to get this to dial in and operate smoothly. Backfiring any time I pressed accelerator. I ended up using a few of its parts on the original Solex 28-pict 1 carb and then decided to go in a different direction.

Near perfect out of the box!
Direct replacement, no need to change hoses, wires or anything. I bolted it in, hooked up fuel line, throttle, choke wire and idle valve wire. The VW started immidiately and needed very minor adjustment to Idle speed and mixture. The truth is: I really didn't need to make the adjustments, it worked that well! Thanks for making my VW project so easy and and without frustration.....

Excellent product
Carburetor worked as it should right out of the box. Installed the two supplied mounting studs. Removed old gasket and installed new supplied gasket. Connected solenoid,electric choke and vacuum line to distributer. Turned engine over to fill up new supplied fuel filter. Once carburetor bowl was full,engine fired right up and idled perfect. Nice product and NO issues with installation. Will purchase more.
