Reed Tool TC4QPVC Quick Release Tubing Cutter for Plastic Pipe, 12-Inch

I'm a veteran pool contractor with over 40 years' experience I have used PVC pipe cutters in the past and was disappointed.Because I teach courses on pool plumbing in my industry, I circled back to this type of cutter as an alternative method for cutting PVC for teaching my students.I am super happy with its performance.I purchased the TC4QPVC model and an extra blade.It makes a nice, even clean cut. You will absolutely have to use a chamfer tool to remove the sharp edge on the pipe. I use a chamfer tool for any cutting so it's not specific to this tool.Neglecting using the chamfer tool can result in a poor glue joint.This is a heavy-duty sturdy tool and I hope to get many uses out of it.I highly recommend this to any contractor cutting and glueing PVC pipe.UPDATE: I purchased a storage case for my 12" model. Cuts pvc and abs pipes. It cuts up to 4” pipe. It’s a little to big for cutting 1 1-2 and 2” pipe, but it beats buying a smaller cutter as well.

Hands down best PVC cutter for big pipe. You can cut pipe that's already installed either vertically or horizontally with ease. Blade needs to be replaced from time to time but that's very easy to do and Reed makes replacement cutting wheel blades available. Great quality tool.

I was cutting DWV pipes using Milwaukee portable bandsaw, but this is so much better to have clean cut.

Ordered this model when I couldn’t get the Rigid brand. The quality is superb and price much better than the Rigid. I like good quality tools and this Company makes them from what I can see with this product.

20250311: TC4Q, Paper instructions included do not indicate the tool is designed for PVC only metals. No spare cutting blade. Well built made in usa tool. Instructions indicate replacement blade part #3-6PVC. One would believe the OEM would be more responsive answering customer posts. If you click on the OEM's store you are only resented with clothing and other leather goods. Very weird and poorly managed by OEM. Buyer beware.
