Would this work for my pet bison?
Can someone recommend a mattress or lining that would fit?
I have a 12 month old. Can this play yard tip over if they lean on the sides as they try to stand up?
Is this hard to use on the beach? What if it's windy? How does it hold up? Also, doesn't sand get stuck to the bottom?

Perfect for what we needed.
Inevitably around that 6 month mark you have a decision to make, how are we going to stop this baby from crawling all the places we don't want him to crawl when you need to do the dishes, laundry, or other mundane normal activity. Also with 2 older girls and all of their toys it is almost impossible to keep a house child-proofed, so if your eyes need to be off him for a second you need a safe place to set him down.I did quite a bit of research looking into plastic and metal playpens, but the overall theme was that they are hard to set up and take down, and are normally stationary, even if they don't say so. We finally decided on this summer portable because the thinking is we can carry it up and down stairs, set it up when doing housework, and travel with it to the beach or park when needed. On un-boxing you find a duffle bag that looks very similar to beach chairs with a small footprint and an over the shoulder carrier. To unravel you just spread it apart and it extends out to 90% of its octagon shape. You need to loop 6 straps to get that last 10% extension and help secure the frame that will eventually hold your standing little guy.I was surprised at how light this is but overjoyed at the sturdy feeling once fully extended. I also enjoyed the bottom tarp so bugs, sticks and outer outdoor debris are a temptation for a very curious little one.Size-wise this is probably perfect for 6-12 months, because it has enough space to crawl around and more than enough space to scatter toys around. I'm guessing once we hit the 12-24 mark there will be a time when this "huge" new world is no longer that interesting and climbing out will be the new challenge. We've been using this for a few weeks and it's worked exactly as intended. It let's us load some dishes, do some basic housework or keeps him to a safe confined and enjoyable space when we need to and travels easily. Overall I would recommend this as an easy transport and safe environment for your little guy.

Ideal for apartment living & travel, so easy to use!
This thing is fantastic! It is such a great alternative to the bulky plastic paneled play yard because not only is it a major space saver for an apartment, it's also truly portable (folds up in seconds, similar to a camp chair) for trips to visit family. I knew we had to get something to create a safe area for my son when he started rolling around & getting stuck against (or sometimes under) furniture if I turned away for a second. With this play yard I can even leave the room to quickly go to the restroom with complete ease of mind & without having to put him back in his crib, which he hates. Another added bonus is the moisture resistant fabric that forms the base. Any spills don't leak through to your carpet or floor if you clean them up relatively soon. It even keeps my dogs from going over & licking him or trying to steal one of his toys! Will it stand up to vigorous attempts by an older child to get out/in? It doesn't seem like it but we'll have to wait & see. I'm confident it'll last for our purposes. My son is more than happy playing in this play yard because he doesn't feel confined, I have peace of mind that he can't go anywhere if I turn around, the floor is water resistant, & it's so convenient to take on little trips to the park or the beach (especially because of the cloth floor!) This is most definitely money well spent for us & allows me to safely perform the many other tasks that seem to pile up (laundry, cooking, etc.) while still keeping an eye on my son as he plays since I don't have to constantly pull him away from the furniture.

Perfect for toddler. Lightweight, spacious, & easy to setup
This is the perfect play yard for your toddler. Lightweight, spacious & easy to setup. I needed something that was flat to the ground yet sturdy to contain my 17 month old toddler. He unfortunately tipped over his playpen. Since the play yard sits directly on the ground it is not as comfortable if your child naps in a playpen. This required us to get creative. We found that a 48" papasan chair cushion fits perfectly. The manufacturer does not recommend any items like pillows be placed inside of the play yard so this is against their recommendations but it works great for my son to take his afternoon naps. I have read all of the reviews regarding the cross bars & the rivet that hold the bars together at the cross section. My son has bounced his head off of the bars more than once & hit the rivet directly with no injury & no tears. Now he did hit them on purpose because he was throwing himself against the sides of the play yard. I would not recommend the play yard for young children that have not yet gained their balance. As mentioned it does sit directly on the floor and any young child learning to crawl or walk would not only hit their head on the bars but also directly on the floor as their is no padding. This result would be the same even with a plastic play yard. This play yard is perfect for a toddler it keeps my son contained & safe. Adding extra's to it such has covering the bars or a pad for the floor reduces it's portability & increases its weight. It can be used safely without any of these items. Also it is big enough for either my husband or myself to sit in it with my son. He loves when we get in it with him

My 9 year plays with her sister in it so it is big (wide) enough for a baby calf as a temporary solution and is easy to wipe down . It really depends on the calf if she is a kicker or climber or not and if she if fed enough so she doesn't start trying to chew through the mesh."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"Can someone recommend a mattress or lining that would fit?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"The Dream on Me has a soft and firm mattress in that hexagon shape for about $70?
