Brought Back Memories ... Minnesota transplant to Florida (Recipe Included)
I am going to order more. I grew up in Minnesota, but moved to Florida in the 90s. For many years, we had a cabin on Leech Lake not too far from this company. My Mother who passed 20 years ago used to make a Wild Rice Soup Recipe she got from Midwest Living magazine probably in the early 80s. I will share below. I found it in her handwriting a few months ago, and had to order some Minnesota Wild Rice to be authentic in making it. In fact, this may be the exact rice she used to buy for her recipe. That I cannot guarantee, but I can guarantee the recipe below using this rice was amazing and brought back many memories. If you wish "kick it up a notch", which I did, even though the recipe calls for 2/3 cup of rice, you can use a full cup of the rice or even a bit more than that. I definitely top with the additional bacon pieces where the recipe states are "as desired". Enjoy!!!Ingredients:• 2/3 Cup of Wild Black Rice• 8 Slices of Bacon (cut up)• 1 Medium Chopped Onion (1/2 Cup)(You can use yellow or white. It tastes good ways.)• 4 Cups Half-n-Half, Light Cream, or Whole Milk(I only use Half-n-Half.)• 3 Cans (10.5 oz) Condensed Cream of Potato Soup• 2 Cups Shredded American Cheese• Crumbled Crisp Cooked Bacon (optional)(While technically optional, I consider this addition mandatory for me.)Directions:1. Step 1a. Rinse Rice wellb. In a Sauce Pan, Boil ½ Cup of Water, and Add Ricec. Reduce Heat and Simmer for 40 Minutes or until Tenderd. Drain if necessary2. Step 2a. In a Medium Skillet, Cook Bacon until Crisp, then Remove from Heatb. Drain off most of the fat then add the Onionc. Cook over Medium Heat until Tenderd. Drain off fat3. Step 3a. In Large Saucepan, combine:i. Wild Rice, Bacon, Onion, Half-n-Half, Condensed Soup, and American Cheeseb. Heat over Low Heat until Cheese Melts and the mixture is Heated Through4. Step 4a. Server Topped with Additional Cooked Bacon Pieces as desired

Excellent Taste
I don't know why this tastes better than what you can find in the stores, but it does. It cooks up better and doesn't seem to be as hard when cooked. It's not as good as the hand-parched variety, but that variety is much more expensive. It's a great addition to any grains cabinet!

Great Rice for the Price
I bought this not knowing what I would make. I eventually made America's Test Kitchen's Wild Rice and Mushroom Soup using some of it. It turned out wonderful. I did a lot of checking and price per pound, this rice was the best deal I found online. I do recommend it if you cannot find it at your local grocer at a decent price.

Delicious rice, just order it by itself
This is really flavorful wild rice with great texture. We like that it is from USA. We had to send the first order back, through no fault of the vendor, because Amazon shipped it in the same box as fertilizer and that powder covered everything. In reality, we got a credit, as this is not returnable. Order it by itself and you should be fine.
