Love it
Altruist sunscreen is an absolute game-changer! I’ve been using it for almost an year now, and I’m seriously impressed. First of all, it feels so lightweight and absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy residue or white cast, which is a huge plus for me. It also has a high SPF 50+, so I feel confident it's protecting my skin throughout the day. I love that it’s formulated with sensitive skin in mind, and it’s fragrance-free, which works perfectly for me since I tend to react to strong scents. Plus, knowing that it’s affordable without compromising on quality makes it even better. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for effective, budget-friendly sunscreen!

Good cream
Good price. Good coverage. Goes on well. Doesn’t smell. Not sticky. Don’t feel the need to get in the shower at the end of the day in the sun to wash the stickiness of suncream off. Handy tubes. No complaints here.

Amazing sunscreen
Very good for the price , leaves a slight white cast but does not bother as such, infact hives a brightening effect. Its only suitable for the face. There is no smell and texture is runny but creamy. Easily absorbed and dries the skin a bit but can be topped with a good moisturiser or hydrating serum.

Wonderful product
I seldom write product reviews, but I was very pleased with this sun cream, and with the transparent (and altruistic) nature of the company/founders. I am very thankful that Altruist was able to offer this product at a very affordable price, so everyone can access sun protection and apply it at the correct densities every day to achieve the UV protection stated on the bottle (and re-apply throughout the day). The sun cream is a bit shiny, especially with re-application, but I enjoy wearing it at home, and while exercising. It is water-resistant which means it is great while exercising - and because it is very affordable, it can be used appropriately without guilt (e.g. adults need ~ 6 g per leg, ~ 3 g per arm + hand, ~ 6 g on torso, ~ 6 g on back, ~ 1,4 g on face + neck, to reach the SPF on the bottle). It is also great in the winter, especially where I live, when it can get down to -30 Celsius. It is also very friendly for sensitive skin - it is fragrance-free, uses a very gentle preservative system (although I must say using parabens would have been even more effective and gentle - contrary to media, there is no evidence of harm to human health at all, unless you have a confirmed allergy to parabens, as demonstrated by a confirmed patch test conducted by a certified allergist). There can be a slight flash-type cast due to the TiO2 for those with Fitzpatrick types III and beyond, but it is very minimal in my opinion. It does not sting the eyes (since octocrylene is only present at 5%), but could be different for extremely sensitive eyes.I just wanted to share a bit about UVA protection in hopes those not familiar with this find it helpful: UVA is immunosuppressive, causes premature aging, contributes to persistent hyperpigmentation, and exacerbates many skin diseases. The SPF only describes the UVB protection (which is only 5% of the UV dose - the rest is UVA), therefore not every SPF 50 offers the same UVA protection. The UVA 5-star of this cream only says that the sun cream UVA protection is at least 90% of the UVB protection (i.e. 90% of 98%, since it is SPF 50). However, it also has the UVA seal (which states that the UVA protection factor is at least 1/3 of the SPF), meaning this product offers a PPD of at least 17 (which is already quite effective). Although I do not know the exact PPD rating of this sun cream, I am pleased that Altruist decided to divulge the extinction profile of the cream, which shows it remains effective even in the very broad UVA1 range (beyond 380 nm). This is very important because not every broad-spectrum filter covers this area effectively. I appreciate that Altruist SPF 50 contains 8 UV filters: octocrylene (UVB+UVA2), octisalate (UVB), avobenzone (entire UVA1+UVA2), TiO2 (UVB+UVA2+someUVA1), ensulizole (UVB+slightUVA2), Uvinul T 150 (UVB+UVA2), Tinosorb S (UVB+UVA2+UVA1), and Tinosorb A2B (UVB+UVA2+UVA1) for truly comprehensive UV protection. Avobenzone offers most of the protection beyond 380 nm in this sunscreen, but Tinosorb A2B is also effective in this area (because it has a substantial tail after its second peak absorbance at ~ 340 nm) - and the avobenzone is very stable in the formulation because of the Tinosorbs and octocrylene (plus the other filters) so I am very confident in the UVA protection of this sun cream.Overall, a fantastic product. I tried it for the first time earlier this year and was immediately impressed. I now re-ordered 8 bottles.

Excellent product a lot cheaper than other similar
I swapped to this product from Rosalique as it was half the price. It's really light, leaves your skin feeling soft and covers redness really well. I'm glad I tried it and will be sticking with it from now on.

Avoid if pale, it’s extremely dark orange.
I have sensitive, pale, mature dry skin and I heard great things about this brands spf and thought I’d give it a go. When I came to the Amazon page, I discovered there was an anti redness & pigmentation option in the green packaging and thought it would be perfect for me.I did read the reviews and noted some complained of it being very orange with photos, however some reviews with photos showed it as a normal white colour. I decided to try it, thinking perhaps it was a reaction with certain skincare products making it go orange. When it arrived, it was in perfect condition, no damage to the box or product and tested it immediately on the back of my hand. Please see photos. As you can see against my white Scottish skin, it’s incredibly dark orange. Although I had no other products on my hands, so my belief that it was a reaction to other products wasn’t correct.I still tried it on my face, however I mixed it 50/50 with my old spf, hoping it would reduce the effect. However, my face looked ridiculous being bright orange.A makeup tip for if you suffer with redness in your skin is to apply a bronzer on the red areas before applying foundation or a skin tint. This helps neutralise the redness.I hoped this orange spf would perhaps do the same, but alas it didn’t help, it’s simply too strong of an orange.I have contacted Amazon as the item isn’t eligible for return and they did refund me with no issues or fuss. Thank you.I found the SPF sat nicely on the skin, hydrating and moisturising with a dewy finish. Nor did it accentuate any dry areas. It didn’t upset my skin, no stinging or discomfort. There was a very slight, but minor discomfort for an hour of my eyes, nothing as bad as other SPFs I’ve tried. It claims to help redness and as you can see on my hands, I do suffer from psoriasis and my skin gets very red and angry. This SPF only reduced the redness by approximately 5%.I’m still confused to why the reviews are varied, with some like me receiving a product that turns orange and some where it remains white. My only conclusion is that either it’s a faulty batch or the product has gone off somehow. If the colour hadn’t been orange, I believe I would very much like this SPF and I am going to order the normal face version.Unfortunately, I can only rate it one star; despite having some good parts to this SPF: hydrating, non irritating, great ingredients etc, it essentially unusable due to the colour. All I can advise is to purchase the normal SPF and avoid this anti redness option.
