Oliver’s book is a breath of fresh air, not only outlining a robustly Christian understanding of creation—against the heretical notions underlying such movements as creationism and intelligent design—but also laying out the implications this view has for other aspects of theology, science, and ethics. A must read for anyone who thinks they understand what Christians believe about God.

This is a really excellent, very clear and illuminating intro to the doctrine of creation, which had long puzzled me before I read Simon Oliver's book - even though I studied Theology at Cambridge! He writes very well and this is surely one of the best short introductory books on Christian theology out there. Oliver is obviously very knowledgable but he has the rare gift of being able to explain complicated ideas and long histories in an elegant, accessible way for the general reader. Highly recommended.
