Never saw this film before but am so happy I now get why so many watch this every year. This is a classic film from the golden age of Hollywood that deserves to be seen at least once in your life.James Stewart is perfectly cast as George Bailey and shows how and why he was chosen for the role that defined him. This is a long film so be sure to have your snacks and popcorn ready as you don't want to miss a heartbeat of this uplifting but dramatic film that makes you feel better once you have watched it.

A classic
I watch this every Christmas and it never ages and never fails to entertain. From the opening with George Bailey as a child to the climax where he thinks of killing himself and then sees what life would be like if he'd never been born there isn't a false beat or a boring scene.

Absolute Classic
Based on a book and concidered a Christmas film (though not really Christmassy) this film is one of my personal favourite 40's films alongside The Third Man. James Stewart was a fantastic actor and really shows it in this masterpiece of cinema and The 4K scans make the film picture look so clear and crisp compaired to the first time I saw it on TV 4 years ago.

An excellent restoration and fascinating extras
My Christmas Eve favourite, beautifully restored in black and white. Fascinating extras about how the film was restored for posterity and a home movie showing the wrap picnic with some of the stars, crew and families, with Jimmy Stewart having fun.
