Quiet, reliable operation
What else is there to say. It works quite well for it's intended purpose. Be sure you add a heat sink and heat conductor paste. I use them for controlling a small chiller and heating elements for brewing. Have not had one fail yet.

Keep it cool! Good for 1/2 the rated capacity
Lasted about 6 months before overheating @ 110v 15amp draw for 30 hours continuous load properly heat-sinked but in hot environment. Seems to be a decent quality product overall, especially at this price point. The reason for failure was an excessively hot environment in my Softub enclosed in a metal case with no ventilation. It had a heatsink but evidently wasn't enough when on for 30 hours straight in 90 degree weather (outdoors). It's not the product's fault, I just need to vent it better or add a fan to help cool it properly. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I expected it to not have heat problems when drawing less than 1/2 the rated amperage and 1/3 of the rated voltage.Bottom line: Don't trust the labeled ratings, keep it about half the ratings for amps, in a vented environment with a heat sink and you will be fine. I ordered 2 more knowing the limitations and won't think twice about buying more.

Worthless junk! Working on a project with this and ...
Worthless junk!Working on a project with this and tested my wiring with the relay triggered to make sure I had everything wired up correctly. I then disconnected the input trigger voltage making sure the power would cut out. It did not. I tested the relay completely disconnected from everything and there is continuity between leads one and two. I never used any voltages outside of the range, I only used 9 volts DC on terminals 3 and 4 with 110 VAC on terminals 1 & 2. This is junk and it does not work.

it would work better.
First one I got burnt out because I did not use a heat sink with it. The page tells you that it needs a heat sink, but I missed that. Then I got a second one with a heat sink. I worked well for about a month, then the motor I was controlling with it started pulsing. The relay gets incredibly hot, to the point that I was very concerned about a fire. I swapped it out for a coil type relay and all is well. I suspect this relay works well at much lower currents, but I was using it a 17A ( it is rated to 40A) and had issues with it. Perhaps if it were controlling a heating element, not an induction motor as in my case, it would work better.

Works Great
I am using this on a 1700w 120v kiln setup. So far it has worked flawlessly. It runs hot but I have it mounted to a decent heat sink and haven't had any issues. That said there were no wiring instructions included. There was nothing but the SSR in a plastic bag. If you didn't know a heat sink is required with an SSR or that how and where its mounted matter then I could see a very short life.

Good product
I used this with an arduino to control a temperature element using PID . it connects directly to the arduino . the arduino was then programmed to look at the PID output and then turn on and off the heating element for specific times based on the PID output basically its batch firingTHE SSR WORKED FLAWLESSLY

Excellent value, note that leads are exposed
These are exactly what I ordered. Great value for hacker/maker projects to interface your DC Arduino/microcontroller with an AC appliance for hobbyist/DIY fun. Be careful when working with AC, and either get the plastic covers to protect the AC leads, or at least cover with electricians' tape for safety. This does not come with any faceplate or other protection, so beware of shocking yourself on the exposed leads! I'm using mine bare to hack a desklamp, but I would recommend a suitable heatsink if you intend to put anywhere close to the 40A rated current through this thing.

easy to install, perfect functioning
Needed a part in a hurray for glassblowing furnace until real part from usual company shows up. Received this lightobject fairly quickly, was easy to install, works perfectly since then.
