Food grade, rigid / sturdy, roughly built but good value
Note: this bottle is made of food-grade plastic. The product info on Amazon doesn't mention it, but you can find a statement saying so on the company's website. I use it for mixing and storing meal replacement drinks, and it seems to work well so far.Comparing this (4L polypropylene bottle) to a Nalgene brand 2L high-density polyethylene bottle I own, it find the material to be sturdier / more rigid, which could be a good or a bad thing. It's not as smoothly machined as the Nalgene bottle - you can easily see and even feel the seams in the plastic where edges of plastic sheets were joined together. The Nalgene bottle's cap is a single piece of plastic that screws on with a snug fit, whereas this bottle's cap is not as perfectly fitted and comes with a rubber ring inside to ensure it seals properly. The rubber ring needs to be removed and washed separately, which is an extra hassle compared to the Nalgene bottle. Perhaps it's inevitable due to the materials, though; it may be that this bottle's rigidity makes it harder to get a good seal without a rubber ring, whereas the Nalgene bottle is more pliable, allowing its cap to "bite into" the lip a bit.The rigidity also means that if the pressure in the bottle changes (e.g. if you put in a hot liquid, close it, and let it cool), it can be difficult to wrestle the cap open again, so watch out for that.Other reviewers have mentioned this, but the bottle doesn't come with any "United Scientific" branding on it. Instead, it has "PolyLab" and "4000mL" embossed on the bottom. I don't think that means it's counterfeit - if you look up import records, PolyLab appears to be an Indian company that serves as a supplier / manufacturer for United Scientific, so I wouldn't be too worried.Other than those points, I'm generally pretty happy with this bottle. It's twice as large as my Nalgene 2L bottle but costs significantly less, and works about as well for my purposes. (Actually better, thanks to the size.)

Sturdy bottle
Good quality bottle. I'm using it to keep diesel fuel treatment treatment in. So far, no leaks.

Great for water bottles
I bought these to use for water bottles because they don't leech micro plastics. They can also handle very high dishwasher temperatures. I buy coozies for them. They're perfect for the beach. Lids never leak.

Great but no chlorine bleach
Great product. Do not store chlorine bleach in these bottles. It will eat through the lid and leak. Otherwise they have worked perfectly for storing food, laundry detergent, all purpose bleach and many other things. Perfect for camping.

Full-on Double Rainbow
Holy Wow Super AwesomeThese are just gosh-darn-great bottles. They are the size and shape of Nalgene's but feel heavier and a lot more solid. They feel good in your hand -I can assume these bottles are polypropylene instead of the polycarbonate that the Nalgene's are --they are just, I dunno, "softer" in your hand, not the brittle feel of the polycarb. The lids are great -good feel, good seal, not jammed into place when trying to unscrew them later. I guess the only gripe I could have is that it would be nice to have volume marks ("graduations"?) on the side. Then again, that's probably why God gave me a Sharpie and (not quite) rudimentary math skills. So yeah, these bottles are double-plus-good. If you figure in that they are less that 2 1/2 bucks and like, 1/3 the cost of Nalgene, they are double rainbows, the cat's meow, sliced bread and the corner-piece brownie.I have spoken,May the Force be with you,Sincerely, Topher!'Ting!

Great for solvent
I needed a small (1oz/30ml), well sealing, chemical resistant bottle to put a toxic solvent into for safe shipping. After scouring Amazon for something sufficient I found these. I was worried that a solvent would be dangerous in a plastic container (it originally came in tin) but I found that these little bottles are not only extremely durable they also seal tightly and are very chemical resistant.I tested the bottle first for myself before sending them out to clients and I have had the same 1oz of Inhibit X in a bottle on my desk for almost 2 months. It has not evaporated, it has not discolored and it still works perfectly as the day i put it into the bottle.Inhibit X already has a short shelf life so it won't last forever like this, but it has not changed the effectiveness of the solvent inside for this long. This is exactly the type of packaging I was looking for to safely ship this hazardous product without fear of leakage or damage.I ship it with a small paint brush for easy application.
