Q: Mine works fine but it came with a D ring and no instructions at all so I dont know what it is for?

The D-Ring that comes with this charger replaces the one on the speakers that don't come with a charging base. For example, my speaker did not come with a charging base. It required connecting it to a USB cable for charging, and the D-Ring is solid (no hole in the middle). The D-Ring that comes with this base has an indentation in the middle for the pins on the base. The middle pin is positive and the rim pin is negative. In order for this to work with my speaker, I had to replace the original D-Ring with the included D-Ring.

Q: Does this d-ring keep this waterproof? Or need to unscrew this d-ring and put in the one that the speaker had without a charging connector hole?

The charger is not waterproof. The speaker is waterproof. When replace the original D-ring with the new D-ring,the speaker is still waterproof. The d-ring only used for blast and megablast.Ultimate ears blast and megablast need replace the D-ring.the boom 3 and megaboom 3 do not need this d-ring.

Q: Can the provided d ring charge with the original power up ?The problem is I lost the original d ring which was provided, so I need a new ring.

Yes,It works with the original power up.But it is come with this dock,You can not just get d ring but also get the black charging dock.

Q: Is the cord permanently attached or can it be unplugged? if separate is the connector a micro-usb like the boom 3?
