Great tool for the money!!
Oregon CS1500 18-inch 15 Amp Self-Sharpening Corded Electric ChainsawI bought this electric chainsaw last month because my gas operated chain saw was acting up and I needed to get rid of some small trees in the yard. I wanted a chainsaw with enough power and long enough chain to cut 8” trees. This chainsaw is good for what I needed done. It was able to cut through the tree and the logs very easily. There is enough power in this saw, and I was not expecting gas chainsaw performance power from this $100+ saw. This saw did not cut as fast as my gas chainsaw, but it did cut "continuously"!The automatic chain oiler works well. The auto sharpener is convenient and easy to use. When you push the sharpener handle, you could see little sparks as the sharpener stone brushes against the chain/links.I used a 100 feet extension cord and there was no power drop.Overall a very good chainsaw for $100 price range. Quality of the parts is good. Sure there is plastic but it is not flimsy.

Highly recommend for infrequent chainsaw users.
For those that need a chainsaw infrequently, this is the one for you. It is electric powered, so you don't have to keep a gas engine operational. If the chain gets dull, a few seconds of pushing the sharpening lever and it is ready to go. Use the recommended chain oil, as it is lighter than what I am use to but it works great. I cut up a down tree in my back yard that was over 24" in diameter at the the base. Best chainsaw experience I have had, it is light to run, not as loud as a gas chainsaw. It makes lots of chips and cuts as good as a gas of similar size.I recommend buying a spare chain and sharpener when you buy one since it is not a standard chain. Chain lasts a long time but when it needs changed the sharpener stone needs changed too. Costs more than sharpening regular chains yourself but the time I saved was well worth the extra money.

Great machine.
I finally had an opportunity to use my saw to take down an old Linden tree. It really surprised me in how well it worked. First there is a learning curve when you have a power cord attached. I had to loop / semi knot the power cord to the saw to prevent it from constantly unplugging itself. You then have to be very conscious as to where the power cord is so that you don't cut it.The only operational issue I had was that the chain popped off about 10 times during this operation. Part of that was operator error in that I think I let the chain get too loose. I started paying more attention and retightened it every few minutes, which seemed to help allot but did not totally stop the chain from popping off. I'm still not certain why this was happening so frequently. The oiler seemed to work well. DO NOT store the saw full of oil. I did this and when I went to use it I found most of the oil had drained out all over the shelf. Be sure to drain the chain oil before you store it. The built in sharpener seemed to work well. The one thing that surprised me was that as soon as you take your finger off the trigger the chain stops immediately. It's such a hard stop that I'm expecting something to break. So far it is holding up well. I used this saw pretty hard on a 65 degree day. I did not sense there was any type of overheating issues. I did unknowingly hit the chain brake while moving from an awkward position. On the next trigger squeeze nothing happened. I thought maybe I had hit a thermal limit but eventually figured out that the chain brake was out of position. So it also really works well, just be sure to check it first if your saw stops working. Most of my cuts were on limb wood size pieces as the trunk was only about 6 foot high before it branched out. Therefore there was not a lot of heavy continuous cutting, which may reveal other limitations. Overall I am really happy with my purchase.

Revolutionize Your Chainsaw Experience
Are you tired of dull chainsaws that require constant maintenance and sharpening? Look no further than the Oregon CS1500 18-inch 15 Amp Self-Sharpening Corded Electric Chainsaw! As someone who has had their fair share of frustrating experiences with chainsaws, I can confidently say that the Oregon CS1500 is a game-changer. Not only is it incredibly easy to use, but it also has an integrated self-sharpening system called PowerSharp. Yes, you read that right, it sharpens itself! No more stopping mid-task to manually sharpen your chainsaw. But let's back up a bit. When I first received the chainsaw, I was pleasantly surprised by how lightweight it was. I was worried it might be too heavy for me to handle, but it was surprisingly manageable. The 18-inch blade was the perfect size for the tasks I had in mind, and the 15 Amp motor made quick work of even the thickest branches. Now, let's talk about the PowerSharp system. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after using it a few times, I can confidently say that it works like a charm. When the chain starts to dull, simply pull the red PowerSharp lever for 3-5 seconds, and voila! Your chain is sharpened and ready to go. It's like having your own personal chainsaw sharpener built right into the tool. But wait, there's more! The chainsaw also has an automatic oiling system, so you don't have to worry about constantly checking and refilling the oil. And if you do run into any issues, the Oregon CS1500 comes with a 2-year warranty for added peace of mind. Now, I have to admit, I did encounter a few minor issues with the chainsaw. For one, the power cord is a bit on the shorter side, so you may need an extension cord depending on the location of your work area. Additionally, the chainsaw is corded, so you will need access to an outlet to use it. However, these issues were easily resolved, and they didn't detract from my overall satisfaction with the product. One thing I particularly appreciated about the Oregon CS1500 was how straightforward it was to use. Even if you're not particularly handy or experienced with chainsaws, you should have no problem figuring out how to operate it. The instructions are clear and concise, and the chainsaw itself is very user-friendly.As for the performance of the chainsaw, I have nothing but positive things to say. It cut through branches and logs with ease, and the self-sharpening feature really does make a noticeable difference in the quality of the cuts. The noise level was also fairly reasonable for a chainsaw, which is a nice bonus if you're working in a residential area. Finally, I have to give a shoutout to the customer service team at Oregon. When I had an issue with the chainsaw shortly after purchasing it, they were incredibly responsive and helpful. They even sent me a replacement part free of charge, which was much appreciated. In terms of safety, the Oregon CS1500 also has some great features that put my mind at ease. The chain brake stops the chain in case of kickback, which can be a lifesaver if you're not paying attention or if something unexpected happens. There's also a lockout button that prevents accidental start-ups, which is a nice touch. One thing to keep in mind is that, like any chainsaw, the Oregon CS1500 can be dangerous if not used properly. Make sure to read and follow the safety instructions carefully, and always wear appropriate protective gear (such as eye and ear protection, gloves, and sturdy clothing) when operating the tool. Now, for the storytelling and funny aspect of the review... I have to admit, there's not a lot of room for humor when it comes to chainsaws. But I can tell you a little story about how the Oregon CS1500 saved the day (and a whole lot of hassle) for me recently.I was working on a DIY project that involved cutting down some branches in my backyard. I had been using a different chainsaw that was frustratingly dull and difficult to use, and I was getting pretty fed up. That's when the Oregon CS1500 arrived on my doorstep.I eagerly unpacked the chainsaw and put it to the test. I was immediately impressed by how easy it was to use and how smoothly it cut through the branches. But the real magic happened when I needed to sharpen the chain. With my old chainsaw, sharpening the chain was always a huge hassle. I had to stop what I was doing, take the chain off the saw, manually sharpen it (which was a whole process in itself), and then put the chain back on. It was time-consuming and frustrating. But with the Oregon CS1500, sharpening the chain was a breeze. I simply pulled the PowerSharp lever for a few seconds, and the chain was good as new. It was so quick and easy that I didn't even have to take a break from my project. In the end, the Oregon CS1500 saved me a ton of time and hassle, and made my DIY project much more enjoyable. And if that's not a glowing endorsement, I don't know what is!Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Oregon CS1500 18-inch 15 Amp Self-Sharpening Corded Electric Chainsaw. It's a game-changer in the world of chainsaws, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use tool that takes the hassle out of chainsaw maintenance. 4 out of 5 stars!
