Good but..
It does take multiple coats and was actually starting to get on my nerves as it was taking a small amount off at a time. Considering what I was using this on would you ideally want a deep perpetrator even if that meant one or two very thic coats. But I have purchased more than once so it can do the job for the price.

Does what it says on the tin
Ok, here we go, having previously used a steamer to strip a wall, when it came time to do a ceiling I thought I would give this a go.I was working on a 4 metre squad ceiling with a good 2mm thick painted artex, having read the previous comments I followed the advice and liberally applied this, covered it then let it rest for 24 hours. When I came to scrap it off it took some elbow grease but it did come off fairly easily, however it didn’t remove it all and left a bit of artex residue so I had to repeat the process the following weekend. The second treatment got most of the residue off and I followed behind with a metal kitchen scourer and sponge, this left the ceiling completely artex free.Things to note:1. I initially used baco foil clingfilm to cover it overnight but part way through got feed up of unrolling it and tearing it off so resorted to a dirt cheap polythene dust cover which was as thin as the clingfilm, when left overnight I found the product still dried out and the clingfilm stuck to it and would not peel away, whereas the dust cover peeled away easily.2. A spray bottle full of water is you very best friend, when leaving for 24 hours the product does tend to dry out but a liberal spray of water reactive it and makes it easier to scrap off, I advise continually spraying with water as you go along as this makes life so much easier.3. And finally, as mentioned in another comment, nothing and I mean nothing will prepare you for the mess, the product turns the artex back to a glue like paste that goes everywhere, by all means put dust covers down but you get one bit on the sole of your shoes and it will stick you to them and drag them wherever you walk totally defeating their purpose, the stick gloop would put superglue to shame, the only redeeming thing is it is easily removed with water. As I said I have removed artex with a steamer before and the same thing happens to it so you can’t win eithe way.All in all the product does what it says on the tin, but if you are expecting it to be a slap it on a easily scrap of with no bother and no mess then you will be disappointed, it takes some work and a lot of mess, as I said a 4 metre ceiling took 2 weekends with 6 hours work and3 hours of clean up afterwards.

Don't waste your money
Have removed artex before. Scored the artex with a Stanley knife at 25mm intervals & then applied warm soapy water 2 to 3 times until artex is dampened. It then comes off quite easily. Now I liked the idea of simply applying this product & after an hour or so, just scraping it off.Well I applied one coat, left it an hour. Applied a second coat & left it for 3 hours. I then went over with a damp sponge as recommended to soften it, but still it never came off. Now I don't know whether it's the amount or type of paint I've used, albeit a water based emulsion. But the artex still remains on my ceiling. It's gonna have to be plenty of warm soapy water & a attack with the Stanley knife I beleive.

It's helps but isn't great.
The instructions make it seem simple... Slap on, leave, scrape off... Sadly that wasn't the case.I followed the instructions of trying a small area first- left for 30mins... Nothing.- left for an hour ... The paint would scrape off but that's it.Granted, we had two lots of emulsion paint on the wall so we followed the instructions of applying, waiting, scraping, then applying again, waiting and scraping - nope.Tried keeping it moist. Tried covering and leaving. Nothing seems to work.In the end I slapped it all over the wall, covered it in cling film, and left it overnight - guess what - still didn't work.I got the steamer out used for removing wallpaper, and this finally had the artex coming off as "advertised".I thought maybe it was because it was painted. So I tried some on a part that was behind the radiator that hadn't been painted - left an hour...didn't work on that.Maybe the artex in our house is a unique mix or maybe this stuff isn't very good.Either way I managed to get the artex off eventually which took a whole day. It's extremely messy and sticky so use old clothes old shoes...it will stick to everything so might be worth putting sheets down so you don't get it all on the floor. To be honest it will probably be easier and quicker to plaster over it.

Really impressed!
I have used 2 tubs of this ( 2 ceilings) I have achieved what I thought was going to be an impossible task and have perfectly smooth ceilings after removing horrendous thick artex. I actually found it easy to do. The key thing is to keep changing the blades in your scraper, this makes the job so much easier. Is it messy? Yes it is quite messy but I bought several polythene dust sheets really cheaply which catches the falling artex and then just literally wrap it in the sheet and dispose. Also advise wearing disposable shoe covers! Would definitely recommend this to others.

Good stuff!
This works well, but you need to apply fairly generously
