This product will not play on a DVD player sold for use in North and South America.
I found that you can purchase software that will clear you're DVD of the regional conflict but it was over twice the price of a new DVD player that works in all Regions. Made in China of course but it seems to work well (megatek dp260m55hd). The only thing I have found that bothers me so far is every time you load a new disc, you have to turn off subtitles. I am going to giving a 5star rating because a price under 80 dollars and I believe there is 78 DVDs with every episode can't be beat.

great set, beautiful transfers
The show itself needs no plugging. It was years before I sat down and watched it but, thanks to this set, I am now a happy fan. Especially for its time (starting in the early 90's), it is beautifully shot and transferred. The Blu-ray set is stunning. For 11 seasons on 60 discs, the set is remarkably compacted into two large-size boxes. There have been a lot of complaints about the box. In order to get so many discs in boxes of a decent size, they are packed three at a time on one spindle. People complain about possible damage when trying to remove them. I do not find this to be true: each spindle is high-quality -- just a large version of a standard single-disc spindle. The discs are easily removed safely; the only issue is that it is easy to smudge the disc when removing them. Does not harm the disc, but a fingerprint or smudge can cause it to play improperly. Make sure you wipe down the disc before putting it into the player.Otherwise, great set, and very good value, especially on sale.

It looks and sounds fantastic.
We’ve been watching The X-Files over again from the beginning on Disney+ since it became all things Fox as well. We were enjoying it, but even with fast internet it just wasn’t the quality I wanted it to look like. I found this box set - and was a little worried because it appeared to be a Region 2 product from overseas that wouldn’t play on our PS5. My doubts and worries were quickly set aside - because the discs play no problem and picture and sound is night and day better! Beyond pleased. The packaging is just like my 4K Lord of the Rings - not my favorite. But it’ll do.

A great set at a great price (plus warnings for American and Canadian buyers)
Overall, I'm very happy with this set. These complete sets often go in an out of stock over the years and the prices can be outrageous. At the time of purchase, I paid an incredible $60 USD which is a huge discount over the typical $200-$400 asking price for some other complete sets of this show. This set also includes the two newer seasons (10 and 11) which were made from the mid to late 2010s, long after the primary run of the show. Older complete sets may only go up to season nine (the final season of the primary run). This set does not include the two full-length theatrical films.Having said the good, I will also mention the main thing to keep in mind. These are region 2 DVDs, which means they will not play in virtually all DVD/BR players (or game consoles) designed for the North American market. You must have a region free DVD player. If you're not sure if yours is, it almost certainly is not region free. Buy this set only if you have a region free player though with the savings on this set you could buy such a player and still come out ahead compared with the high price of other X-Files box sets.Others have complained about the packaging, I don't have major problems with it. I like that it's a compact set, other complete series box sets can be extremely large. On first opening, the discs were in a bit of a disarray. A couple of them were upside-down on the spindles, some were off the spindles, and some of the discs were mixed with other seasons. I checked and confirmed all discs were correctly included and organized the cases so each "page" corresponded to one season.

Yippee!
I must have underrated my love for this series, because I got butterflies when I saw what was in the box. Some people have mentioned region issues. I have a multi region player, but it played fine without me pressing the region switch, so idk. I highly recommend buying a region free/multi region player. In the months since I bought mine I’ve saved about $200 by buying UK imports for some shows - more than the player cost.

Space reduction.
What can be said about the X-Files has been pretty much said in all of the reviews. What interested me in this set? Space reduction. As one who loved the series; I had the DVDs of each season. Well except seasons 10 and 11. Stacking the DVDs gave me a height of 2 feet. The blue-ray set is about 6 inches. I had too many shows and found I was stacking them outside of my storage. Space reduction helped! Now for watching season 10 and 11?……I don’t know. I did watch season 10 and was disappointed at the writing. Some were good and the rest were “meh”. I didn’t bother with season 11 and a friend told me that was the wise choice.Still the original series was great! The space recovered? Good!
