Very nice, Small but very nice
From what I've seen, read this skull screams young female between 4 & 5 feet tall , Examine the features of the skull Men generally tend to have thicker, heavier skulls. They are typically notably larger than female ones, generally speaking. I measured the outer edge of the sockets & they come to the outer edge of my iris's I'm 6.4 so this person was considerably smaller than me & smaller than the average adult male it's about the size of my 12yr old niece measuring from outer edge of eye socket next to your temples where there is only skin over the bone & no muscle. Also Look to the temporal lines. The temporal muscle is a long band of tissue stemming from the parietal bone on the skull the part of the skull where the muscle attaches (the temporal line) often has a more pronounced ridge in males than females this one is quite smooth. The lower border of the orbit can differ subtly in form between males and females. Males tend to have a blunter, more rounded surface here, females a sharper border which this one has. The superciliary arch or “ the bony ridge under your eye brow” is not very prominent in humans as it is with apes. It exists above the orbits, and comprises two arched elevations which are prominent medially. In males, there is usually some slight ridging here and you should be able to see some of it. In females, there is typically very little, or none at all. This skull has very very little. Also the Nuchal lines these are attachments for the neck muscles on the occipital bone at the rear of the skull. The most obvious is generally the superior nuchal line, which may have a large swelling or bump at the center, called the external occipital protuberance. In human males, the markings for these muscles tend to be more pronounced than in females which this skull reflects female once again not exactly clear proof but the signs say female or short very feminine male or they're flaws in the casting, Also it came with a tooth broken off the lower mandible in the box looked to be broken during packing nothing a tiny drill bit a piece of a paperclip & some glue couldn't fix, All in all it's a very nice skull I would buy again.

Great skull, not so great shipping integrity
I would love to write a great review for this, and I hate reviews that are based on shipping issues and not the product itself, but at sixty something bucks, I have to be that guy. What is up with the shipping. This is the second skull I've received that has the front test he broken out. This time around I think I'm just going to Glue the teeth, because I need this for a project and can't wait to get a third (or none). Seriously guys, make a gap or void where these front teeth are in the packaging so they stop getting crushed!Other than that, the skull is great, looks realistic, it's a nice solid heavy weight. Resin casting is good and the wall thickness is decent. I'd be super happy if it weren't for two being received with broken teeth.... ugh.

Love it.
The skull is well constructed, aesthetically pleasing and very detailed. It appears to be made of resin which feels very sturdy. I know there must be mold seams but I can't find them. Some have mentioned the skull's small size. The size does not take away from its authentic appearance. It looks like the skull of a small adult, not a scaled down version of something originally larger and certainly not like a miniature. Nice job. Oh, and it smells good too!

Heads up! Product different than advertised
Although the skull is definitely cool, the product received differed from the one advertised. The nose, the openings in the eye sockets, the overall shape and most of all, the teeth. The quality is on par with cheaper skulls on amazon.

Very nice piece, perfectly made and finished
This skull looks, feels, weighs the same as the real thing. I glued the mandible to the skull because it was a pain to move both pieces from place to place in my home. Now it feels secure and is one piece. A doctor friend of mine says it was probably cast from a young female, age 15 to 25, and she did not suffer any trauma to the head. I named her Abigail, and placed her in my curio cabinet. Very nice piece, perfectly made and finished. By the way, all of her teeth were intact.

Realistic Aged Skull
I'm glad I purchased this skull, it's the most realistic I've seen and the price was great compared to others I've looked at. I plan on making a helmet stand for a Viking helmet I have. If you are looking for a realistic, aged human skull, this is it. Thanks.

Special bonus of unwanted deathly odor
Mine arrived today. It's very well packaged, double-boxed with lots of padding so I suppose that explains the high shipping cost. What others say is true; it is heavy, it does seem a little small, etc., but it's such a nice casting you'll find that you're able to forgive any minor qualms you may have.I'm deducting one star because mine STINKS. It has a pungent odor that reminds me of roach spray. It's slightly sweet but chemical smelling. Sort of like roses and Raid roach spray. It's pretty awful and triggers my asthma. I don't want to return it -- so I'm letting the skull sit outside to air out. Hopefully my neighbors won't call the cops on me ;-)EDIT 10/27: I wrote toNose Desserts about the strong odor asking if it will eventually fade away, and the person who responded said yes, the stink should fade in 1-2 weeks if kept in a ventilated area.

...and I shall call you "Bob"
This is an amazing human skull reproduction! The colour, the detailing, even an unattached mandable. If you need a human skull - or skull-like object - then you will not be disappointed. Not gory or presented as having any tissue remains, this is not Hallowe'en. This what people look like without their organs, muscle, and skin. Not for children or the faint of heart. Seriously, some people have been freaked out.
