Great hat for running
I bought this to wear while running to both keep sun out of my eyes and keep hair out of my face. It is a great hat for both of these purposes. Light weight so I can barely feel it - my head doesn't get hot or sweaty (well sweatier) than it would without a hat. Easy to hand wash and dry. I like the sweat wicking band around head. Very adjustable. It looks good on me even though I usually look goofy in baseball hats! Something about design of front panels is good for an average sized woman's head.Only con I can think of is the visor isn't made from a super tightly woven material and lets some sun in. I like that it is dark on underside for glare, and the sun doesn't hurt my eyes, but I wonder if it is good enough to not wear sunblock.Overall, I highly recommend!

Great product AND customer service
I run in 110+ degree weather through the summer where I live, and I generally sweat A LOT. This hat wicks sweat as good as any headwear I've ever tried, and it's very light and comfortable.

Plainer-Looking than SweatVacs, but Less Expensive Too
I bought both the HeadSweats Race Hat and SweatVacs Race Hat at the same time so I could pit them against each other. I was a little skeptical about how well either could possibly work, but I am a heavy sweater, so I was desperate. Traditional cotton headbands soak up sweat to a point, but then they become saturated and stop working any further. And they do nothing to protect my eyes or the top of my head from the sun, which is important with the summer approaching. The HSRH is extremely light and well fitted. I did have to take up the adjustment strap at the back a little, but not much. The adjustment strap has a thin plastic buckle on it. I'm a little worried that it might be a failure point in the future, with temperature and humidity swings, and the general thinness of the plastic material. The SVRH's wide velcro strap (with reflectivity to boot) seems superior to me. But time will tell. The HSRH is very basic in appearance. It's basically monochromatic--just one color. There is a logo on the side, and there is a nice black undersurface beneath the long bill, but overall the HSRH looks a little plain and boring, if you care about that sort of thing. It really does come off as something intended from the ground up to be decorated with a promotional logo of some sort, to the point that it seems overly dependent on that sort of decoration, because without such, the hat just looks blah. (Maybe that's partially because I picked GRAY, which is one of the dullest colors known to man!)The SweatVacs model is visually more appealing. It's got reflectivity at the front and back, while the HeadSweats model does not. I picked up a SVRH with contrasting stitching, for just a little more pop, but this HSRH is all just one single color. The HeadSweats hat is also consistently cheaper, though. They keep it simple, and they keep the price down, comparatively speaking. That said, functionally, I am extremely impressed with the HSRH. It wicks moisture away from my forehead and sweaty hair very well. While it quickly feels wet in my hands when I take the hat off at a drink stop, it still feels lightweight, so it doesn't retain very much of the moisture that it absorbs. It really does transport the sweat from my skin outward into the air. I've had so many so-called wicking fabric garments fail to do that in humid southeast Texas, that this hat's fabric surprised me with its effectiveness. Coolmax kicks caboose.I rinse the hat off in the shower after every run, and then hand-wash it with detergent in the sink at the end of the week. Either way, it air dries in front of a floor fan in about 2 hours. My biggest gripe about both the HeadSweats and the SweatVacs Race Hats is the construction of the interior sweatbands: (1) They're both quite thin, which seems rinky-dink. Maybe that allows for better wicking, but coming from traditional stand-alone headbands, it seems chintzy in these hats. (2) The built-in headbands are sewn at the bottom, but open around the top of the bands, which allows them to flop down and outside of the hats. I often feel the sweatbands dangling down the front center of my forehead, and have to keep fiddling with them to stuff the headbands back up inside the hats. They should've been sewn in better by both manufacturers.Still, the hat works. Plain as it might look, it does what it's supposed to do, even in hot, humid, Texas. Gotta respect that!Because of the disparity in the looks department, I bought a lot more SweatVacs hats directly from their official website. I bought a few more HeadSweats too, but I opted for slightly fancier versions than their basic Race Hat in order to work around the plainness factor. The HeadSweats website also offers a decent discount as well.Overall, if I could, I'd rate the SweatVacs Race Hat 1/2-star ahead of the HeadSweats. They both work very well, but the SVRH looks a little better.

Perfect for running!
First I am bald and I also shave my head, so if I run during daylight hrs, I need to cover my dome.I searched near and far for a hat that 'sat' right on my head. After buying 2-3 others on the market, I looked at the others were wearing at my races and saw most were wearing Headsweats. I had never seen this brand at any of the stores I shop so I did a little research and ended up here on Amazon. The price was in the range that it was worth taking the risk of buying to see how it fit because I could not find any locally. So I ordered one. The first one I ordered, I somehow ordered navy blue, I am not a blue person. I decided to try it anyway for a run and loved it! It felt very comfortable and it kept my sweaty dome as dry as possible on my long run. No more sweat rolling down my face into my eyes. The fit was great and hugged my head the way I like, most others stick up for some reason on the shape of my head. After that run, I came home and ordered the black one.I have been using the black one all summer and it is holding up well even with washing on a regular basis. I have also noticed that compared to the other brands I have, it does not hold a 'sweaty' smell after drying.I am sold on this brand and will not buy any other.

Fanstatic Hat
I was highly skeptical of buying a hat online. I've had a difficult time finding hats in stores for the past few years. It seems most hats are strange versions of baseball hats with weird hard half orbs in the front. Hard to describe... but I prefer hats that are more fitted and securely (not squeezing tight though) flush to my entire head.Additionally, I have large head, which stores my large brain of course! So finding hats that fit my head comfortably is a real challenge. I was surprised the "one-size fits all" actually worked for me, because normally it doesn't! Again, most brick and mortar stores I've searched did not have any hats that either fit, in a style I liked or in a price I thought reasonable for a hat.Having said that, this hat fits my head great! I've own tons of hats and this one is definitely up there as my all time favorite. I'll certainly be wearing it from now on. I like the plain, not super flashy style and color (I got black), I might buy the grey next. The price is great, it's below most of it's competition which makes this hat even better of a buy.If I had pick one thing I didn't like, or one thing I would like to see changed (or perhaps a new version built from this design). Is the front part is solid black, were the sides and back are a mesh like black (slightly lighter). If it's not stationed on my head in a few specific angles, it will make the hat look kind of strange. Not embarrassingly strange or anything... just off. This is usually if its straight on like you would normally wear a hat, you need to tilt it slightly up otherwise the bill will dip a little to low. Which, in my opinion, makes it look kind of weird. That's just a small issue, which can obviously be cured by tilting the hat a little higher.I highly recommend it!

Great hat!
Headsweats are great hats for sports as they are light weight and absorb sweat. They also wash well.
