Ideal bat box 🦇
This is an ideal bat box, so good I bought a second. Sadly that turned up damaged, looked as if it had been kiched around the warehouse, and had to be returned. Have now ordered another of same 🦇

This isn't a terrible piece, but be forewarned
This isn't a terrible piece, but be forewarned, the workmanship is fairly shotty. Most of the screws are run in without predrilling and the wood gets cracked in several of the joints. They try gluing the cracks shut and it looks kinda bad, especially if you intend to have this somewhere in your yard where people can see it. Also, I can probably identify the worker who assembled it because they left gluey fingerprints on the item. I would definitely be weary of this product if you intend to have it visible on your property.

Great product
Great idea and product. On more than one occasion either my girls or wife would come running in the house telling me to go chase a bat away that was sleeping under our house eaves. Then we had a close neighbor of ours contract the West Niles disease and we learned that came from the mosquitos we were always swatting when outside. We saw a short film on YouTube how bats eat their on weight in mosquitoes everyday and how this guy built a little house for them. So I found this on Amazon got it like advertised and mounted in the back yard on a pole. We now have a small family of them living there. My girls now stand out on the patio in the evening watching the bats fly every which way eating mosquitoes fascinated they can do this with no eyesight. Thank you. Great product

Built from select cedar.
Overall I am satisfied with the bat box. It is made from select quality red wood cedar and weather resistant screws. Cedar is a light weight wood but this box has significant heft to it. Yes, as some reviews mentioned, there are a few cracks in the wood caused by over tightening and lack of pre-drilling. However slight cracking is common with cedar and will not get worse or fall apart over time. The manufacturer even filled the small cracks with color matching wood filler. That was thoughtful and I’m sure the tenants won’t mind. 🦇

Nice product
Mine arrived broken with the inner box damaged but the outer shipping box undamaged. At first I thought it was just the top corner cracked and I could glue it. I was busy so I put aside. A couple of months later I got back to it and found the whole side of it was cracked from top to bottom. Overall I believe it is a quality product but someone in their shipping department needs to pay better attention and not drop things.

Dem Bats is smart. Dey use radar.
So goes the line from David Letterman's show, back in the day.We used to have a bat house from another manufacturer. It was made with some questionable materials, and it eventually disintegrated, fell off the pole on which we had it mounted, and left us without a way to give back to our wonderful bats.So we bought one of these, which I mounted to a piece of 2x4, which I then attached to a 24' pole using a flange I bought at Home Depot. My little boy helped me dig a deep hole and set the pole in the ground with concrete. It was a good family project. I explained that bats can eat their weight in mosquitoes, which might be bullshit, but it's the thought that counts. Really, I wanted this because bats are cool, and I like to float on my back in my pool with the pool lights on after dark, and watch the bats swoop down and eat all the insects that get attracted to the pool lights. It's half a step up, entertainment-wise, from watching a bug zapper. But you know what? It totally works for me.Plus, when people come over and ask about this thing sitting atop a tall pole in my back yard, I can virtue signal that I'm doing something responsible for the environment by not using Big Chemical sprays all over and indiscriminately killing honeybees and whatnot. I like that.
