Korean Traditional Fried Barley Hard Tack, Gun Bbang 120g (6 Pack)

This is what Japanese Kanpan or the WWII German "Zweiback" would be if it actually tasted good.The two other crackers I just mentioned look almost exactly the same, but are much plainer. These, on the other hand, have a very pleasant savory-salty taste, in addition to the fact that it uses a different grain (barley) than the Kanpan/Zweiback.This is nearly a perfect trail/camp food - good enough to polish off the whole bag at one sitting, but not *quite* good enough to tuck into and sneak out of before you need it.

I usually only have the original, unfried ones but this is just so much better! The flavor is just so much deeper. Unfortunate that it's small, but such flavor!

This is a new on for me, and why not? Hardtack -it should last a long, long time on the shelf. We'll see how long they last, but the flavor is good and the texture is right. I actually enjoyed eating them.

I was very disappointed when I tested it. It says it is fried hard tack, but it is no more than a shortbread cookie! I could have gotten twice the amount for less than $5 at the local grocery store! Real hard tack is hard and crunchy, and has a long shelf life. Don't waste your money! It's not worth returning for $15, but I will not be purchasing again!
