Very light with thin rail
When I got these out, I actually thought they were plastic, and the rail, too, as it's so light. I know aluminium is not heavy, but the rail is also very thin. The hooks are thick enough, probably, but with this type of rack, it's always the base that bends, not the hooks themselves. Even stainless steel ones can bend, because they always only use 2 holes, whereas 3 would make them so much stronger.Plus, there's the fiddly little plastic end pieces, which are liable to come loose.I liked the idea of the hooks being adjustable, but really, it's not that helpful. If they were just evenly spaced, it would be fine for most things. Strength is more important, so you can hang more than one item on each hook. It's a nice idea to provide wall plugs for plasterboard, but those tend to be useless for most walls, even for light items. I tried to use a couple like these for single hooks and had to remove them again.. You also get normal wall plugs, screws and caps for them. This is a Vine Voice review, but that has not changed my opinion and I only review items I would buy.You can see my rating system on my public profile under my bio, as I don't want to add it to every review.

Pretty good, you'll need a hammer.
So the hooks come with all fittings included, which is nice. They seem pretty sturdy, though the bar they attach to isn't the strongest. I managed to warp it just by screwing it in place, so only time will tell how long it lasts under the weight of coats. After sliding the hooks into place on the retaining bar, you have to put some little plastic end caps on. The ones I received were a fair bit too large (about 2mm too large) for the bar, as you can see in the pictures. These caps keep the sliding hooks from sliding out, so I get that they need to be snug, but I had to use a hammer to get them in, which caused one of them to bend out of shape slightly. The hooks themselves are pretty strong, though they also have squared edges. This means if you hand something delicate on it, there's a significant chance of it being damaged. I tested with one of the wife's cardigans, it did not like it and the hook began to work its way through the knit.Overall, quite nice, fine for things like hoodies or coats, not good for delicate things and the end caps really let it down.

Better than I was expecting!
This is a really, really excellent set of coat hooks. Some assembly is required...There is a metal back plate, and metal hooks that slide onto the backing plate. The supplied fixings are high quality, and the instructions are clear and useful. All in all this is really, really good.

Poor Finish - But Does The Job
I wanted this for my entrance hall for coats and jackets etc. However the finishing on the product / end caps overall feel doesn't fill me with confidence to even use it and waste my time installing it.The hooks themselves wouldn't work well with softer delicate items without potentially damaging them.Something like this taking jackets etc would be more suited to wood / metal mix for durability and practicality.Other things to note - all fixings like plugs and screws as included. You'll probably need a hammer for the end caps!Like another review eluded too - once laden with coats and other items the pegs and back board will not really be seen. For the price of £6.99 - it's not a bad price for a basic set of coat hooks on a budget.

Poor
The size is rather diminutive. It does not feel particularly sturdy.I am underwhelmed by the quality of this product.I wouldn't recommend this product!

Good design and materials but finish is poor.
I have lots of hooks in my house but most of them suffer from the same problems. They either come as singles or they come on a rack but are a fixed distance apart. This rack of five gives great flexibility, in that the hooks are moveable and you don't have to use all five, and it is easy to fix up requiring just two screws. The material of this hook system is good durable aluminium and the finish could be attractive, being a satiny gun metal. Unfortunately the surface was marred with lots of blemishes which really spoiled what should have been a good look. The contour of the back plate is very traditional looking, with its chamfered edge, but the hooks are very distinctive having a ridged front to the top prong. Again the hooks were not well finished with quite rough edges to the metal work. However, I do like the design and feel that it will blend in anywhere, either ultra modern or rustic.Fixings are supplied, including two wall plugs with screws to match and, something I really like to see, two screw covers that just finish off the neat look. There are also two screw in fittings for when fixing to plasterboard. For me the price of £8.99 seems very reasonable for a product that is made with quality materials, looks stylish and is very versatile and functional. The finish does let it down a bit but I suppose that when the pegs have clothes hung on them the plate and hooks will be largely hidden.

there are better options available
In summary, the pickpiff Black Coat Hooks has some great features, like adjustable hooks and a sturdy design, but it falls short in terms of installation ease and capacity. It's a decent product, but I believe there are better options available for the price. I would recommend it if you’re looking for something stylish and functional, but just be prepared for a bit of a hassle during installation.
