Quality and look
I have been very pleased with this set. Its cast iron and was perfect for fondue at Christmas. Very high quality. Make sure you buy the gel for the fire. It's not included.

Quality product and easy to use. Highly recommend.
We have a stainless fondue for meats and love it. This Swissmar fondue for cheese is excellent quality. I use the pot on my stove to melt and prepare the cheese and it easily transfers to the fondue pot holder for serving. The metal base of which it sits is sturdy - no chance of it tipping over. I placed the pot and holder on a trivet to safeguard my table just in case the burner got hot - but it did not. The porcelain covered cast iron is heavy which keeps the pots heated and cheese melted. The pot is very easy to clean. I used the recipe in the box and it is plenty for four people. Other recipes are on the internet if you want something different but the Swissmar recipe is very good. HINT: If you want to use the fondue pot right away upon receipt, make sure you buy the recommended fuel cans at the same time. None come with the pot. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent Multi-type Fondue Set
Great coated cast iron pot in the traditional Swiss shape, so yes, handle gets hot! This fondue pot works great for cheese and chocolate as well as versatile enough for meats or other proteins, without the need of separate pots. Easy to clean.Fondue forks aren't color coded!Easy to use for any occasion.

Product review -- Excellent value
I've owned this fondue set for one day, and used it for one cheese fondue. What I liked:- the mass of the cast iron pot helps avoid cooldowns and scorching- the ceramic coating means the pot won't rust and doesn't need to be seasoned- under-pot burner works well enough for cheese fondue, haven't tried anything else, yet.- tremendous convenience with using the same pot to cook up the fondue on a cooktop and serve the fondue on the dining table- pot is large enough to serve 6 or more people, easily- the included fondue forks work wellWhat I did not like:- A cheese fondue *can* scorch this pot with gel in the under-pot burner.- A larger diameter under-pot burner might spread the heat more evenly and avoid scorching.- The ceramic coating is not non-stick. A scorch will require soaking and/or soft scrub cleaner. In my first go with this pot, the Swissmar fuel gel was not available. What I used instead was a Stern-O. I scooped the pink Stern-O fuel gel out of the Stern-O can and into the under-pot burner. This solution worked well -- the Stern-O fuel gel burned hot enough to keep the fondue hot enough to eat properly. The Stern-O fuel gel 'tins' are readily available at the local Safeway supermarket (barbecue supplies aisle) and the local Walmart (camping equipment section) in packs of 2 or 3 tins.To my mind, this fondue pot represents excellent value for money. Cooking and serving fondues in a (considerably less expensive) thin-metal fondue pot is much more fussy and annoying than using this pot. I have used both types of fondue pot.

Swiss approved!
I grew up in Switzerland and finally decided to purchase an authentic fondue pot. This is the kind I grew up using and it did not disappoint! The pot it’s self is heavy sturdy cast-iron with a lovely glaze that makes it super easy to clean even without soaking it first! This was the primary reason I wanted a new fondue pot: the old one was so difficult to clean even after soaking it overnight. The burner is a standard gel fuel burner that is super easy to use because it’s either on all the way or on low and you simply move the metal handle left or right to adjust the heat. You can either fill it with individual gel packages or else hand fill it with a bottle of gel: either option is super easy and simple to use. Some people have complained that the forks that come with the set are not traditional Swiss fondue forks, and while that is accurate, I actually really like these: the wooden handles feel good in your hand and the extra times on the fork make it easier to keep the bread on it while stirring.

Quality
You won't be disappointed with this heirloom quality fondu pot. As the last pot you will own, this set will last for generations. You get what you pay for, don't waste your time with the thin metal versions. No buyers regret here.
