Wide and Thick Cedar Planks Help Make Salmon Perfect
After soaking the plank for about an hour, I heated the plank separately until it was hot. I then placed the salmon on the hot, smoking plank. After grilling, I served the filet on the plank. What a sight! And, tasty. It's the best way to grill fish.The fish was easy to remove from the plank by inserting a spatula between the skin and flesh. Very little clean-up on the grill -- the plank was wide enough for a full, farm-raised salmon filet, so the grates were clean. Don't buy the narrow planks or the fish will be hanging over the sides of the plank. These planks are wide and thick, so buy the best.

Good Product
The planks were a bit flakey on the edges but overall good product. I actually bought it for putting smoke in drinks and it does the job.

Planks a lot!
Okay, I must admit I was skeptical about the difference planks could make when cooking with planks. Consider me sold! Salmon tasted better than I ever made on my grill before. Easy, inventive and kinda fun to see what would happen when i used a plank. I say buy one and prepare to be converted.Anne & Ron

I like my salmon grilled on cedar planks. These produce a good, intense flavor. A bit pricey to buy often, but they work.

pretty much impossible to clean and re-use
These were low-quality planks. The top surface was rough, and the bottom surface was rough and splintered. pretty much impossible to clean and re-use. I would not recommend them if you wanted planks you could re-use.

Caught Fire
Soaked them for about 6 hours, put them on the barbq to warm up as per instructions. Guess they got too hot, and had to put out the resulting fire with a jug of water. Fortunately hadn't put the food on yet. Can't really recommend them!
