Bought this battery to replace one that, after three years, finally died. Looks exactly like the one it replaced, but doesn't fit into the slot as well. The new battery snaps into place and stays there, but there is a slight difference in the fit. Other than that, I am pleased with this item. Battery life seems to be acceptable, and I have experienced no problems at all, other than the fit.

Worked great.. then someone stole the laptop a few weeks later.

I have been using this replacement battery on my laptop for a few months and it works fine and I am glad I got it and saved money compared to buying from Compaq. However, the battery falls out at times from the compartment in the laptop and I had to use tape to keep it in place. It works fine that way.

Just received the battery, popped it in, and it worked fine. It is currently charging to full capacity, then I will really see how it works. I will repost a comment in about a week or so with any updates, but so far it is the best battery for your money, and laptop mate is a very professional company.

This new battery arrived and following the install directions, my laptop registered it to be almost 80% charged. It took the rest of the day to run it down completely, so I'd estimate 7 hrs of use at 80%. I was somewhat cautious ordering this battery as I'd just gone through a headache return project on a battery purchased elsewhere. I'm 100% satisfied with this battery and have already referred a couple of my buddies to this battery. Thank you!

I purchased this battery a few months ago, so I have the advantage of having used it for a long time now before writing this review.First of all, it works, which is good. But it doesn't have a snug factory fit, so if you put your laptop down on a surface a little too hard, it shuts down and you might lose your work. This can be very very frustrating. Second, when you close the laptop to let it go to sleep, it often shuts down like the battery was pulled out, which is also frustrating.Other than that, it lasts as long as my original while unplugged, as far as I can tell.It's an average replacement. Nothing special. But maybe yours will work better than mine.

I got this battery for my wife's PC about a month ago. It arrived promptly and I just asked her a couple of days ago how it was working and she said great! She said the life seems to be longer than the original battery when the computer was new. I know it's only been a month, but so far, so good.

Works fine so far, hasn't overheated or crashed on me yet but I've had it since thanksgiving. If you guys don't hear from me in a year, that means it works perfectly! :) The one I bought was not from the official compaq site, so we'll see how it does.
