Works like a dream !

I can't even begin to describe how bad this product is. I had to give it one star to write a review, but I wouldn't give it any otherwise.It doesn't work. That's it. It doesn't do what it's been designed to do. Which is turn. The boom mount, which I have to use, is useless. Every time I have set it up and returned to the boat, it's hanging down the side of the boom. You can't tighten it enough to stay put. And when it's blowing a hoodie, the whole thing gets destroyed and spread all over the deck! I can't believe...in my every hopeful optimism that it MUST work given how much it cost....that I bought a spares kit!!Seriously, don't but this. It takes me less time cleaning the poop off the deck than it does looking for all the pieces of this contraption and putting it all back together every time I go to the boat!

They work well enough when there is some breeze. The first two sets I bought lasted two seasons which was ok, the latest two sets however lasted less than 4 months before wearing out. I managed to patch them up until the end of the season using bits I had saved from the first two I bought but really unacceptable given the price. I expect at least two seasons to make them economically viable, won’t be buying any more.

This is a well-designed and well-made gull deterrent. There was a small clip missing but return pickup was prompt, as was my re-order. Very impressive speed of delivery.

This is a good item but needs cleaning on a regular basis, I find 3:1 once a week or so keeps it going fine ,,,,,

The scarer works when the wind blows. The only real issue that\i have with it is that it must rotate in a clockwise direction . The manufacturer does not specify this, but if the arms rotate anticlockwise, then it will unscrew from the holder and fall overboard, this happened to me within a day of mounting the scarer. Luckily it is shallow under the boat at low tide so I could retreive it . hole in the spindle with a split pin for security would be a good idea

Lightweight and easily fitted, does exactly what it is supposed to and deters gulls from landing - and more importantly prevents them defecating on the boat.

I've used these for a number of years now, with two fitted to my boat which have required frequent maintainance or replacement. The latest design seems to be the worst yet. The brass inserts wear down very quickly and after a very short period of time of just 1.5 months, the vanes do not rotate freely and the device stops turning as it should. A real shame given the price. I'll be switching to gulsweep for my next set.
