Kapok Zafu, Zabuton and Support Meditation Cushion Set (3pc)

I've been practicing Zen for six months and thought it was time I purchased my own mediation cushions.I couldn't find a set that had fast shipping. After ordering I emailed the zafustore and they were quick to respond and helped with my shipping, great customer services.Pros:Zabuton is very thick, almost to thick, but it will work in more, large enough for me (6 Foot and 200+ lbs.)Zafu is large and very supportive especially for heavier individuals.Cons:You have to work your zafu in before it becomes comfortable. It will arrive almost ball shaped. It will work in and become flatter after a week of sitting.The support pillow is made with Kapok, like the zafu, makes it too tall for knee support, I'll be using it as my "travel zafu and just leave it in my vehicle.Everything just needs to be worked in, so lower body weight individuals will have to be patience before you really start to enjoy it, but it's going to be that way with anything you order.PS The navy is very dark and what I hoped for.

Zafu arrived very firmly stuffed. It took me awhile to find the opening on it, but once I did I was able to pull out some kapok to adjust it to my perfect thickness. Zabuton is very cushy - a little bit smaller than I’m used to, but still more than sufficient for sitting zazen. The additional cushion is a good thickness for additional support under a knee.

I have been using this zafu and zabuton for 9 months now. I sit for 20-30 periods at least 4 times a week. I have been incredibly happy with it. I would highly recommend it if you are interested in beginning a practice of meditation or if you need to replace an existing zafu or zabuton. I made this purchase thinking it would be a “starter” set for me, but I have nothing bad to report and I am quite sure it will continue to deliver good service for quite some time. Do not hesitate to buy. It is a bit stiff at first, but the kapok will break in nicely with regular sitting. I do not use the pillow that much, but it is very good quality and if you have less flexible knees it will certainly provide great support.

I prefer kapok to cotton or other fillings for zafu and zabuton, and this set has plenty of stuffing. The zafu is quite plump and firm, but feels stable when you sit on it. I have been sitting on it for about a month and it still hasn't flattened out much. If you prefer a lower cushion, or one that is more malleable, this may not be the best for you. The zabuton is quite comfortable, and the little square support cushion has been a godsend for me, as an injury prevents me from putting my left knee all the way down. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone who is looking for solid sitting support. The cushions did have a slight acetic-acid smell when I first unpacked them, but it went away in a few days and I didn't find it bothersome. If you are super-sensitive to smells, you might want to air the cushions out in the sun for a bit before using them.

It's hard and uncomfortable. Definitely not filled with kapok. Zabuton is tiny and unworkable for sitting. Junk. Stay away.

I've been using this set for a week now and truly love it.The zabuton is large enough for those who sit in the Burmese position (legs out in front), and more than adequate for all cross-legged position variations. There's ample fill to keep legs and ankles very comfortable.The zafu kapok fill is very firm to start, but actually quite comfortable right from the first sitting. After a week, it's just beginning to shape to my skinny butt ;^)I can see many long hours of comfortable sittings in my future.AND... IT'S MADE IN THE USA!

I hardly ever write amazon reviews, but I love this so much I had to chime in. The zafu is so comfy yet firm, and the whole set is super high quality. Easy to sit for an hour or more on it.
