WonderArtClassics Grizzly Bear Latch Hook Kit, 20" X 30"

I found this kit to be easy to follow. Some complained the canvas wasn't printed with the colors. I think the colors were too similar and would make it very hard to complete. I f you can count to ten you should have no issues. To keep my place I would use a post it note to mark the pattern. I also found it easier to do it if I laid out the yarn in order and then hooked the rug. I usually split it up into 3 sections/ row. My only problem was figuring out the difference between the dark grey and the dark green. The black was very clearly marked with a white square. My only complaints would be the yarn tends to fray and some of the yarn was not the same length but nothing noticeable in the final project. Also separating the yarn was a REAL pain. It was very time consuming and some of the colors are too similar.

Beautiful Rug, easy to follow pattern. Yes, you must sort all thread 1st as some others have mentioned but that only takes a little time and then you're on your way.There are a couple of colors that are VERY similar (2 of the blues) so be sure to have good lighting while you're sorting those.Great quality product!

Spinrite Wonderart Classic Latch Hook Kit, 20 by 30-Inch, Grizzly Bear I haven't done a Latch Hook kit in many, many years. I had the itch to do one, and wanted one that I could be proud of, and this picture of the bear was perfect. I read and read about the product and ordered it based on the description that the canvas was stamped with the image. When I opened it up I was a little disheartened to see that the IMAGE IS NOT STAMPED ON THE CANVAS. I accepted the challenge, and now that I've started on it, it's not difficult at all. Luckily for me, I have really great eye sight. I could see this being an issue for people who struggle seeing small things and identifying very similar colors. The legend for the the colored yarn is helpful, and I found it helpful to tape a piece of each color next to the legend, that made my life much easier for this project. I would also recommend separating out the colors. I put each color in plastic baggies and labeled the bags with either the color symbol or the color #, just to make it easier on myself.I'm only giving it 4 stars for these reasons;1. Canvas is not stamped, and it wasn't made clear in the description that it wasn't, when I purchased it.2. Some of the yarn was not cut all the way. Certain colors of yarn were in single little strands. A lot of the yarn is frayed too much at the ends.3. 2 of the blue colors are so similar it's nearly impossible to tell them apart. It was a family discussion just trying to separate the two colors. I ultimately decided they'll just be put in a pile, and it shouldn't mess up the sky or water too much if it's wrong.I have only just begun this kit, but I'm looking forward to the finished product. It's enjoyable to sit and do this, it brings me back to when I was a kid and would do these (easy, stamped) kits.Even though I wasn't happy that the print isn't stamped on the canvas, following the pattern really isn't difficult, just mark it off as you go. All in all I'm pleased with my purchase.

I was terrified when I opened the box and saw how big this thing is and that it came with a "map" and nothing printed on the net. However, after I got started I realized that it's more engaging and satisfying to follow the guide. I saw someone complain that they had to sort the yarn. It's not a big deal, takes a few minutes to do each bundle, and is also satisfying and relaxing. It's part of the experience. If you don't want to do anything, buy a rug. This is my first attempt at latch hooking, so i think I'm sort of messing up my yarn a little bit on the ends, but I'm happy with the product, quality, and clarity of directions etc.

total rip off. The rug does not have the pattern printed on it like every other latch hook kit I've done. There is a paper 'map' to use. Basically, you have to count 1,000 boxes and look to the 'map' for every single yarn. Totally unacceptable. Unfortunately I didn't unfold the rug to inspect and now the return period has passed. I will call Amazon tomorrow to complain.

I bought this latch hook kit for my mom for christmas. She loves it! She is still working on it but what she has done looks really nice. It is easy to follow the pattern and the yarn colors are very pretty. She will be hanging it on the wall once she completes it.

I was SO disappointed when I received this kit! I purchased this kit as a companion to the "mountain stream" kit that I gave to my daughter last year, and that she just finished. This grizzly bear kit DOES NOT HAVE A PRE-PRINTED CANVAS, so is not acceptable for the purpose. I will be returning it immediately, and will have to find something else to replace this gift.
