Don't bother!!
If there was 0 stars, that;s what I would give.the radio does not have controls to be able to go back and forward on podcastsi was never able to connect it to the computer so i could listen to music that i had on my laptopthe remote stops workingthe central wheel is a pain, is not user friendlyi have tried to contact sagemcom regarding the remote. several weeks later, they sent me a new one. if turns out that its not the remote's fault but the main unit. sagemcom comes to pick up the radio and says that they will send me a new one. surprise, surprise: the one they send to replace my brand new one is a refurbished (scratched and dirty!!). not impressed. complained with manufacturer that then tells me that I have to send it back to the supplier , at my expenses, because at this point, i want a refund and not a new unit. So i send the refurbished one back and he seller says that they will contact sagemcom to see if they approve the refund. The answer is no, because the unit is working fine. Despite my many emails to the company and seller explaining the situation and having agreed with sagemcom that the refurbished radio was the one to be sent back he second time (and not my faulty one), they have refused to refund me. so, without telling me anything prior, they have shipped another unit that I am now stuck with. I am waiting to see when the remote is going to fail, as it will be a matter of time.overall, really poor performance from the radio, sagemcom and the seller.

Drops the station
Whilst a nice product on the face of it, in actual use though it is a pain. After about an hour it will lose the station, sometimes it manages to reconnect and on other occasions the only solution is to turn it off and back on.

Nice try but getting too many errors
The radio is quite good when it works properly. There's a vast number of stations of all genres and it's pretty easy to operate. However there are a lot of error messages which crop up. For a couple of days there was an "unknown error" which meant it would work at all, for about two days. Looking on the forum this has happened before - something to do with not communicating properly with the site it gets the station info from. Also people have problems getting stations such as the live version of BBC radio 4. Therefore I am afraid I'm not as pleased with the RM50 as when I first bought it and 3 stars is certainly the maximum rating I can give it.

"Best gift I've ever had."
...so said my other half on his 65th birthday. Glad I was the one who gave it to him! OK you CAN pick up some of those channels on short-wave, but you can actually HEAR them on this. AND this model, unlike most, has an ear-piece socket so he can happily fall asleep with Radio China or Rumania talking in his ears while I can snore on undisturbed! The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the remote won't work and the supplier wants us to do the chasing round instead of sorting it out for us. (Nothing wrong with the remote itself as the infra -red functions so there's some other problem.)

Well designed, good performance internet radio at a reasonable price.
Excellent build which works well and can be manipulated from across a room using the remote controller. In particular it enables the sleep function to be activated when the unit is not within easy reach and retains the duration period without having to be reprogrammed after each use. This is great for those who like to go to sleep with the radio on and to reactivate the timer if awoken during the night. (I previously purchased a Roberts with a remote controller which, although an excellent radio, needed reprogramming after each use of the timer and thus defeated to purpose of being a sleep aid). My only disappointment is that I would have liked the unit to be equipped with an ethernet port in addition to the wifi connection.

Just stopped working
Difficult to set up. After a fortnight the device stopped working. I checked the transformer which was OK. Very disappointed with this.

It's not worth the frustration
The choice of stations is great, as with any internet radio, but this has some major drawbacks that drive me mad:- The sound is really thin - it has no depth to it at all. It's no good for kitchens because it just can't compete with any background noise.- The wheel scrolls through items one at a time then switches randomly to one page/screen at a time and doesn't always correspond to how many notches you turn the wheel, so it's easy to miss things.- There doesn't seem to be a way to remove stations from the favourites list - something I only discovered after adding loads of stations, which I now have to scroll through to find what I actually want to listen to.- You can access podcasts and a backlist of all the BBC programmes, which is great except that there's no function to pause, fast forward or rewind, so if you want to listen to the second hour of a programme, you have to listen to it from the beginning.- It is painfully slow. It takes ages to fire up and to switch between stations.- The display light doesn't bother me but is bright enough to keep my partner awake at night. So, to summarise: if all you want to do is sit in a quiet room and listen to one station, this will do fine. Otherwise, I would invest in a radio that has better sound quality and is more user friendly.
