Perfect for my needs
I bought this because I needed to charge a headset that uses this connection and did not want to have two cables. Now I just pop this adapter in and out to charge my PS4 accessories. Works like a charm.

Not a looker, but she can swim
I've had this hooked up to a dash cam for a couple of months now. Power delivery has never been an issue. The adapter isn't pretty, but it was either that or open up my panels to run a new cable through for my new camera. If all you need is an adapter for charging or power delivery, this works. It held a data transfer connection just fine, but speed took a hit, so buyer beware on that.Last note: the mini USB plug doesn't fully insert into the camera. A noticeable portion of the plug doesn't fit in the camera. This same problem is present on phones. It's an aesthetic thing, more than anything else.Bottom line: if you're utilitarian about things and just want something cheap that works, this will not let you down. If you want the fastest transfer speeds and modern, 21st-century looks, look elsewhere.

Works great !
Now I can charge my older tablet with the newer charger and I don't have to worryif I lose the old USB data link because I can use the newer ones with a M Plug.

Allows charging but is inconsistent with device recognition and data transfer
Significant problems -- only partially supports connected devices. For example, seems to work to use a micro-USB cable to connect a USB 2.0 hub, but when used for my SDHC card reader the device itself is recognized but an inserted SDHC card is not. This is with trying multiple USB micro cables and multiple plug adapters (I bought 6). It charges my MP3 player but does not allow data transfer. I would recommend these only if your intended use was charging a peripheral. If you intend to use it to replace a USB mini cable where data transfer is required you're gambling and are better off just keeping an old USB mini cable around.

Not reliable / doesn't seem to connect well
This item is rough hewn, and doesn't seem to provide a reliable connection for use with a micro USB cable and peripherals that require a female mini USB port. I tested it with an optical drive and with a external power supply, neither worked without me physically applying constant pressure, and even then, connectivity was intermittent.

MAKES LIFE SIMPLER
These make life simpler. I mainly use a micro USB for our Kindles. These eliminate a need for an additional mini USB cable. to the micro USB, as it will adapt the micro USB to a mini USB. This adapter takes up less room than an additional mini USB cable would.

With the change in the standard now being micro USB this is perfect to keep around instead of having to keep an extra cable around for the occasional older mini USB devices.
