Description

Product Description Written over many black moons in 2017, Mark of the Necrogram finds Necrophobic lancing the wounds of Womb of Lilithu for a darker, more incisive sound. Sterner likens it a restoration of the Death to All sound with more grotesque twists and monstrous turns. In fact, the long-standing pounder pontificates that it's Necrophobic's most dynamic and varied offering to date. Songs like 'Odium Caecum,' 'From the Great Above to the Great Below,' 'Requiem for a Dying Sun,' and 'Pesta'-a song that introduced the Stockholmites to their new label, Century Media-demonstrate Necrophobic not lost their touch. Rather, the Swedes have widened their spheres of influence.

one of their best

An excellent album by this band. Their last few albums, though good didn't reach the heights of what I consider their best album, blood hymns. This album is right up there with that. This is high-quality death metal with some catchy riffs, diabolical lyrics, and some melodic guitar work. Another aspect of this album that stands out is that it is atmospheric, which is what makes blood hymns such a strong album.

All killer, no filler!

This is the best death/black album I've heard in ages. If you like bands like unleashed, immortal, amon amarth etc you will love this. The band are on top form, memorable riffs and solo's and the album maintains an urgency throughout.

Love At First Listen!

Oh hell yes! Everything I love about death metal is here! Excellent production, guitar work and blasting drums. Even the vocals are strong and clear - but still nasty enough for death metal. This release puts you in that trance like state that only the best musicians can do. I can't really put my finger on it, maybe it's the overall tone that captivates me. With so much metal out there this one stands out in it's own. An awesome mix of old school and modern death that will not disappoint! Just want to throw this in there - check out God Dethroned's new release, The Word Ablaze - fantastic as well.

Sufficiently Brutal

There isn't a lot of variety on the black/death metal spectrum. A band is either tolerable or intolerable - capable of musically expressing those dour emotions most keep hidden, or it crosses the line into repetitive, indiscernible schlock. This latest album from Swedish black/death metal band Necrophobic shows this group has refined their craft into something worth listening to. A "must add" to your metal collection.
