Elastic band didn't survive a day
I can't yet speak to recording quality - I definitely could be doing something wrong. I will say the elastic band has come apart and shredded itself day one into using it, which is a major dissapointment. I wasn't even being rough, didn't keep removing it or do anything negligent. Just fell apart at the seams.Recording wise I'm using only this on my h4n,no foam mic cover etc maybe that's my problem? I'm still getting about the same amount of wind as just using the standard cheap foam cover when recording in the city etc, as I always have this at hand while touring cities or countries etc.I don't find anything wrong with the fit on h4n. Very tight but not too difficult. I'm thinking perhaps with this and something inside, like the foam, I'll possibly have good results. Blowing at it makes noise but maybe that should since it isn't the same thing as actual wind. Traveling and didn't bring the foam to test my theory unfortunately, so once in a life time opportunities for capturing sound are either impossible or will get fed into izotope software for clean up

Good for the price... for fuzzy fabric
Works great, though not as good as some others available. But hey, it's really just a piece of fuzzy fabric, so how amazing can it be?This fits the Zoom H4N relatively well, though it comes down over the indicator LED's sometimes... not that that's a major concern as they don't really tell you much anyway that's not also indicated elsewhere.Cuts down on wind noise well... as expected. Even faint breezes will be obvious in recordings without this thing, so it's a necessity for any outdoor recording, and probably most indoor recording as well. Overall, good fuzz coverage, and it doesn't look like it will just fall out... seems pretty secure.

Works great with H4n!
Whenever I record sound I use the "furry" windscreen. It's amazing how simple this device is, yet how well it works. I recently took my Zoom H4n to Aruba to gather sound effects and record audio for some video projects. It's VERY windy in Aruba and this windscreen did a great job taking away the rush of the wind, giving me the opportunity to get better sound that otherwise would have been useless. In those conditions, blowing 25mph, it wasn't perfect but much improved. Less wind than that is hardly noticeable. I only wish there was a foam insert to keep it shaped properly over the mics. Something for the company to add in the future, please. Overall, a great product that fit my Zoom H4n perfectly, see my photo of it in operation.

Looks like Don King's Hair
Used this to record footage of a convention for our website. Our Tascam was so small in comparison that it looked like a giant puff of silvery white hair on top. We took to calling our Tascam "Don King." Would buy again.

An absolute necessity for recording outdoors
Before installing this weird dead-cat looking thing on my Tascam, the wind noise was pretty much all you could hear. With it installed, the wind noise is pretty much gone in all but the windiest conditions. This is an absolute necessity for outdoor recording.

Good value
I bought these to slip over the larger Oktava MK102 capsules, and have taken them out for a trial run now. I’m impressed that I did not seem to get a muffled sound at all, I can clearly hear all the birds I recorded with no significant high frequency loss. I haven’t yet tested these in heavier winds, but in those cases I would likely be using different microphones anyways. Great value for not having to spend an arm and a leg for wind protection.

It's okay
Doesn't work as well as I thought but then again I use it in very windy areas so I wasn't expecting complete noise reduction. It will work well in more controlled environments.

I'm using this on the DR-40 and the biggest problem ...
I'm using this on the DR-40 and the biggest problem is that it's very difficult to use the X-Y configuration (mics flipped out) with this attached. It's not as high quality as other furries I've used, most have some interior screen, this is basically just a sock.It does work though, very effective at blocking wind noise on my Tascam.

Good Shield
I record and film in Orkney, a place famed for it's wind and unpredictable weather. This really works well on my Tascam if a bit fiddly to put on. To ensure a secure fit can obscure part of the Screen, but a minor problem given the benefits. Very strong wind will get through but this still rolls off loads of bass.

Brassed on!!
I am a Brass Band listener, on the summer weekends our local council, Dartford, put on free concerts in the band stand. I also like to record some of the music. This Sunday just gone was very windy and the use of the furry cover was a great improvement. Highly recommended accessory.

Excellent windshield!!!
Looks and feels really good. It really does what it says on the tin. Can barely hear any wind which is just fantastic and it means I can record outside and get perfect audio without any wind noise being picked up. It's very easy to fit onto the Tascam DR-05 and it adds a little bit of humour to it. I would defiantly recommend this product.
