TopsB.O.B. Brothers of Bushcraft Survival Knife - BROS-TAN (Coyote Tan)

TOPS Knives is one of the best factory knife makers out there. This knife, in that regard, has been no different. The quality is all there. The blade is the proper grind, holds an edge and is simple to maintain. The sheath that comes with it is no nonsense, tough and dependable. The blade is stout in the cross section with an ample spine that will allow a person to power through jobs like splitting wood, but is not too long and ergonomic in the hand for smaller, more detailed use such as field dressing game. I am as happy as I can be with my purchase of this knife and I highly recommend it, for the money it really cannot be eclipsed.

Now this is a knife! I wouldn't call myself a collector, but i do have a bunch of knives. All sorts really. Mainly because I have not found a knife to DO-IT-ALL. Until now. This bad boy is not for child'splay. This knife is hefty. Lots of metal, awesome weight and balance, amazing grip and it will cut through almost anything. I didn't buy this knife for the fire starter it comes with. And I haven't used the fire-starter either, that being said, this knife is worth every penny simply for the knife itself, and the sheath it comes with. The sheath is kydex, with a belt holder that swivels so that you can place the knife holstered on your belt horizontal or vertical, or tilted, However it is right-sided only. I am a lefty so that is really the only thing i can complain about and I am truly just nit picking now. This is not made for fast drawing, so I could care less what side I am wearing the knife on. The sheath holds the knife inside beautifully. The knife does not move in the sheath at all. It is perfectly molded. This particular knife, color and all is just amazing. It looks so awesome I don't even want to use it. my idea of good quality is how much time and material is put into a product. So when you ask yourself can I cough up this kind of money to pay for this knife Remember this... TOPS hand makes these knives. These knives are touched by experts at their craft. The sharpening, the handles, the testing of the blade and are done by expert human hands. So every step of the process to make these knives, are checked for quality. These people take pride in there product and you can tell. You get more than you pay for, and if you just take care of this knife, it will probably last generations. Great all around knife that can do it all. Split wood, carve wood, cut food prep, lash for a spear, strike flint, defense if needed. The best thing about this is the sheath. Can go anywhere and be moved from belt to backpack to shoulder straps if needed. Good solid retention on the sheath but a smooth draw. All for a decent weight…for when you are counting ounces.

This thing is a BEAST of a knife!Pictures really do it no justice. It came with an awesome edge from the factory and the steel feels super resilient. I like how they included a divot on the butt of the knife for striking the ferro rod perfectly (Tops knives are kinda known for not being the best when striking them). This was also the first kydex sheath I’ve owned and as someone who’s always preferred leather, kydex by Tops might be my new favorite! It retains the knife very snugly with no play. The belt clip is also super solid, it has a tight rotation and stays put to whatever you decide to attach it to.As far as aesthetics go, the BOB is beautiful. You can’t really tell from most pictures but it has red liners underneath the micarta scales (which are also very grippy) and they compliment the knife perfectly. This was a big bonus for me since red is my favorite color.This thing will conquer anything you throw at it. It’s a little big and heavy for EDC but it’s still a very comfortable knife to carry.As my first Tops knife, I’m sold on the quality of their products. I’ll definitely be ordering the smaller Tops CAT knife for a more appropriate EDC very soon.On a closing note, I think it’s great that Tops also guarantees theses knives for life and will also resharpen them for you for free for the lifetime of the knife.Overall, 10/10 product. Glad it came with a nice Kydex sheath. I will not buy another leather sheath from TOPS because they oil them too much and the oil fouls the handle scales.Knife is very well made and heavy duty for Bushcrafting. Blade stock is a robust 0.192" (4.87mm). Very coarse thumb jimping works great.The scale screws are stainless steel, 3/32" Allen hex. IMHO they are too small, too easy to strip the hex when using this small of a hex. Not enough surface material for the hex wrench to bit on to.......... considering the tourqe required to hold the scales firmly enough. Should be a larger size like 1/8" hex .............or better yet a Torx size like a T20.Great service and quick delivery from Amazon and Wiesman Trading & Supply.

I love this knife, it has a good weight to let you know it is there to get the job done and more. It fits my hand perfectly, and the micarta scales give it a non slip grip when wet. The spine of the blade has enough heft to batton through hardwood, and the blade will still stay sharp enough to cut anything else you would need to. I’m not a huge can of the kydex sheath, but it does keep it on your side, and it does it well. The striker rod works well, not so much with this knife, but paired with a better striker it works well. The little spot that is notched out on the handle for striking will work in a pinch, but not as well as one would hope for. All over the knife is awesome and bomb proof. If I had to do it over I would definitely buy it again!
