I have traveled to Japan, initially, because I ended up getting to do some special effects work there at the Sanrio Department Store in the Ginza in Tokyo way back in 1987. I fell in love with Japan, with the people, with the culture, and with their art.Anyway, the very first time I traveled there, I had to go to Shinagawa prefecture which is where this license plate is marked to be from. Shinagawa is famous in Japan, and perhaps around the world, and maybe that's why this license plate is made available on Amazon. Shinagawa is a very popular area, especially to live, which is very close to Tokyo proper. I think it's also very close to the world-famous Tokyo fish market, although, I never got a chance to go there when I was working in Japan or when I eventually ended up living in Japan in 1988. But, I didn't live in the Tokyo area. Instead, I ended up living in Kyoto. What a beautiful city!Anyway, I thought that it'd be funny to put this license plate on the front of my car, but I checked into it and it's against the law in the state of Tennessee. I mean, I STILL have my legal plate on the back of my car, which is where the LEGAL plate is supposed to be. Oh well, I guess the government has no sense of humor. Hahaha!So, I guess I'm just going to hang this Shinagawa license plate up on the wall in my home office. I'll probably appreciate it there more, anyway.

I'm very happy with this license plate. It's made out of thick gauge metal. Looks and feels solid. Good embossing and coloring. It's also flat and not warped like my real license plate so it'll be perfect for putting on the wall.Good job on the manufacturing of this novelty plate. Looks great.
