Wow!
Well… must admit, I was a sceptic when it comes to these little wonders but I guess there is a very good reason why quality cables come with these things included! Fitted to the output point of all my audio cables and voila, all interference and ground loop noise was instantly gone. As an experiment, also added to the power and hdmi cables on my AppleTV to TV wireless AV transmitter and receiver boxes and BRILLIANT LY, all existing lag, jitter and freezing issues went away. So, v much wish I’d tried these things sooner.

Reduce or Eliminate Radio Frequency Interference on Mains, HDMI and Aerial Cables
I used this pack of different sized ferrite chokes, in conjunction with a separate pack of 11mm chokes, to protect my cables from possible wi-fi and other radio interference. I didn`t have any identifiable audio or video issues, but since I do have 3 wi-fi networks, 2 mobile phones and landline phones also on radio connections, plus I can see a number of my neighbours` networks, there is a chance that some of these are being picked up in mains and HDMI cables.I found that most of my AV systems` mains cables needed an 11mm choke, and the best position to attach them is just before the device end. My HDMI cables are all braided Akord cables, and required 9mm chokes. Again I put one at the main receiving end, the TV, but one at each end wouldn`t hurt as traffic goes both ways,I also put one of the smaller sizes on the TV aerial leads, again near the TV end. This did seem to improve reception, it was the only type that I could notice a real difference.I didn`t end up needing any of the largest 13mm cokes, so I tend to feel that the packs could better have 11mm chokes instead of 13mm, the 11s are a strange omission, I used a whole pack of 10.All of the chokes were in-tact, none broken, though you have to be a bit careful when opening the clasps as they look like fairly thin plastic. You also need to ping both clasps at the same time. Getting a fingernail carefully under them appears to be the way.Overall then, since I wasn`t aware of any existing interference issues and was just doing this in case, or for completeness, then it appears that my of my cables are adequately shielded on their own, but you don`t know until you try. I have bought some nice mains cables that have a choke fitted already. The chokes can`t do any harm, are pretty cheap, and may help your picture or sound quality. They will help if you really are getting radio interference, which depends on what`s around, and how well shielded your actual cables are.
