Great Amazon Warehouse Deal
Bought these as an Amazon Warehouse deal and very happy I did. Saved some money just because the cardboard box was slightly damaged. The side fences are a typical Festool quality product. Check out YouTube for tips on how to use them and search for Ron Paulk's series on building a bench as Ron made a simple modification that should make them even better.I also bought the Festool guide extensions after watching how to use them on YouTube. I'm building our kitchen cabinets and the guide extensions will enable me to cut thin wood strips to finish the edges of the high quality birch ply I've bought from James Latham's.Very happy with Amazon Warehouse and my new Festool parallel side fences and guide extensions.

Festool quality
More for shop or benchwork than site work. Fiddly to set up but worth the effort.

Great for repetitive parallel cuts
These are great for making repeat cuts from sheet goods, e.g. panels for cupboards - search Youtube for videos by Roger Muller who explains the use of these perfectly. While you've go the plastic out you'll also be wanting a pair of these - Festool FS-PA-VL Guide Extension (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002VMVBU8)Roger Muller's Festool videos - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL02B2683AE384BED4

Tighten it up before you use it
Brilliant job!!! When I received the box it was damaged as though someone had gone thru it,but everything seemed in tactWhen you get it ,tighten all the components,or nuts and bolts,as I've already lost the green arm and nuts possibly with the vibration of them in the van ,aside from that you'll love it 👍

Guide rail perfect companion
I am buying this guide for use with my makita rail and there is a slight problem and therefore you will need a router to take a little aluminium off from the rail but once it is done, it fit perfectly just like a Festool rail. Have not used it yet but am quite sure it is gonna to perform well.

Good, but lock cam could be better designed.
It is good, but a couple of issues to be aware of.1. When adjusting the position of the end stop element, there is a small green cam lever that needs to be unlocked and locked into the new postion, because the action of that cam is along the length of the graduated ruler, the action of closing it can alter the position by a mm or so, annoying as Festool could have designed it to be at 90° to the direction of travel which would have eliminated that issue, so always double check the position after locking it off, very annoying to find you've got a board wider at one end than the other and need to buy more material after spending out on this thing.2. That cam lever is really short, but the force needed to get it to go over-centre is large, and there is no adjustment like there is on a bicycle wheel quick release skewer for example. Mine are fairly new, but I find it needs the heel of a hand and often with a piece of wood to reduce pain / spread the pressure to provide enough force to close them. Adding a small amount of silicone grease to the cam surface improves things, but it would have been a good idea to make those sliding surfaces from PTFE not just the standard glass filled plastic they've used.
