With the assistance of a pair of clippers and a hobby knife, this model is really easy and fun to put together.Some small external parts, such as the smoke grenade canisters, are prone to falling off so you may want to consider a hint of polystyrene cement to glue them in place.The level of detail is astounding and the end result, even without painting, is just as intimidating as I remember it being.Exceptionally good value for money.

I am a bit of a geek. I love building model kits and though I managed to stave off this hobby for quite some time, discovering this Rex kit really put a hole in the boat.So, having built quite a number of model kits in my time, I have to make clear that this kit is by FAR the best quality I have ever encountered. The parts do not even require glue for assembly, yet they fit together almost perfectly. The tolerances on this kit are beyond impressive, and the final model itself is simply amazing.Fellow reviewers here seem to concur with me. This model is worth every single penny of the £90 or so I paid for it (though it seems the price has increased quite a bit since the release of MGSV).Essentially, this model is outstanding quality and as another reviewer has said already, it really is as intimidating as hell.This is a must-have for any nostalgic Metal Gear fan. Buy one before they go out of production. Well done, Kotobukiya.

very cool, arrived pretty quickly considering it came all the way from japan. while instructions weren't in English they are heavily picture based and easy to follow, and if you really need translations it's easy to google for translated manuals.The model itself has so much articulation as well, it's super cool. be prepared to set aside time to build, it takes a while, but it's very fun and satisfying, like super adult Lego.

So this arrived and I was elated, like a kid on xmas morning....a 27 year old kid made none the less.....but still a kid. The instructions are in Japanese but theres a PDF of them translated in English if you need them but the're very self explanatory. all you need for this is and exacto-knife and it just clicks together. Super, easy and fun!

Best figure ever! Spent too much time 'shooting' friends and family with the rail gun before attatching it to the model.Needs a lick of paint once assembled, it's just so awesome!

when this arrived i was so excited, i didn't waste any time assembling it and even though it took most of the day i greatly enjoyed the experience and will likely buy other kits as a result. this is a must have for fans of metal gear solid and modelers alike. it's engineering is fairly complicated which adds to the experience and makes it all the more fun. there are some clear plastic pieces that you will need to be careful with as they are very small and could be lost easily.

If you are a metal gear fan or enjoy building model kits, this is for you. The detail is amazing and is extremely satisfying to build and to see the model take shape. The only thing I'll say about it in a negative way is that it's smaller than I though but whatever, its METAL GEAR REX!(Also note that you need to paint it yourself)

Magnifica maqueta con muchísimos detalles de uno de los mechas que mas ha marcado mi infancia, perfecta para auténticos fans de la saga, divertido de montar, con unas instrucciones fáciles incluso estando el manual en japones. El precio un poco alto, pero en mi caso ha tenido que atravesar medio planeta para llegar a mi casa, a si que no puedo quejarme mucho. Sin duda alguna comprare el Metal Gear Ray y el Sahelanthropus

[2018/1/8 追記]!!!購入時は価格に注意してください!!!メタルギア REX METAL GEAR SOLID 4 Ver.や本製品の別カラーバリエーションを含め、Amazon在庫が切れるといきなり値段が数万円まで跳ね上がります。この乱高下は悪質な(※)せどり屋（出品者）さんの仕業ですが、欲しいものリストに入れている方などは購入のタイミングにはよく確認してください。（リストに入れたときとは全然違う値段になっている場合があります。）不審な価格になっている場合は再入荷を待つか、待てない場合は発売元Kotobukiyaさんのホムペを見に行ってください。本製品のメーカー希望小売価格は7800円、Black Verが8200円、MGS4 Verが9100円です。確かに大きめのキットですが、送料＋梱包手数料込みだったとしても20000円越えとかはおかしいですし、メーカー生産もまだ終了していないのでプレミア価格が発生することも現状ではあり得ません。（もしkotobukiyaさんホムペを確認しに行って、生産終了にシフトしていたら、それはプレミア価値が発生したのだとあきらめてください・・・。）※ せどり行為自体は悪徳商法でもなんでもないですが、Amazonでは「人気のある商品を在庫数いっぱい買い占めて、価値を吊り上げたうえで転売する」という方法をとる業者が多数確認されています。これまで標的になった商品としてはキュボロ、Playstation VR、（生産終了告知後の）Playstation3、Nintendo Switchなど多数が確認されています。このような行為は、もともと希少性があるわけではない製品に不当な希少性を発生させ、正常な流通を阻害する効果があります。消費者は正当な価格で商品を入手することが出来ず、メーカーも販売が伸び悩むなどの被害をこうむります。VR などは悪質なせどり屋に付け狙われたために販売戦略上重要な初動に失敗し、致命的なダメージを被りました。---追記終わり---ホビーショップ店頭で、現物の外箱だけは見たことがあったのですが、販促用のスチール写真や外箱から受ける印象よりも、完成品はかなり小さかったです。パーツ点数がやたらと多いですが、組み立て難易度はさほどではない感じです。一部塗装済みかつ4色程度のプラで色分け形成されていますが、素組みはちょっと寂しい仕上がりなので、塗装は前提に考えたほうが良いです。自力でカラーリングとか無理という方はBlack Ver.やMGS4 Ver.も検討してみてください。後発だけあって素組みでも結構仕上がりがカッコよくなっています。あとまぁ、そんな人はいないかもしれませんが・・・サイズが小さいことに先に触れましたが、「Raspberry Pi3を組み込む」のには絶望的にスペースが足りません。Raspberry Pi ZeroやArduino Nanoなら何とかなるのかもしれませんが、本体格納が精いっぱいで、稼働できるだけのバッテリーを積めるスペースがなさそうです。ちなみにPi Zero単体の稼働に必要なバッテリーは「トランジスタ技術 2016年8月号」によるとアルカリ単三電池3本です。それに加えて関節部を稼働させるためのサーボモーターを組み込むとなるとその電源確保でもう数本電池が必要になり・・・という想定で「スペースは足りない」と結論付けています。（尚、リチウムイオン電池は考慮に入れていません。その理由についてもやはりトラ技の2016年8月号が論拠です。）ただ、Piは省スペース省電力化の傾向があり、「プラモデルのラジコン化」実績もあるので、将来的にもし組み込みが可能になれば、本キットで「MGS4に登場したメタルギアMk-3」みたいな面白いものが作れるかもしれませんね。

My childhood has been outlined by MGS and I purchased this model on a pre-order after tormenting myself for a week over it.I work a phone job and I have variable downtime, but I am not a talented painter, so I went without this process keep in mind.Assembling this piece seemed like a daunting task but the instructions that are present are as easy as matching a alphabetical sheet of plastic bits to the numbers listed in the clearly detailed instructions. I managed to just hold up the pieces to the pictures and figure it out with such speed, that I assembled the entire model in only 2 work days.Perhaps it was my fervor or the fact that I didn't sand down every little bump, but my coworkers find it an amazing piece and I'm certainly impressed by the tiny details and the fact that i can move almost every part of this model to my liking.The figurines come unpainted but I understand that all you need is a gundam marker and a solvent soaked rag.
