WP211 - Bastien Piano Basics - Performance Level 1

My children recently switched piano teachers and their new teacher requires these Bastien piano books! I’m amazed at how quickly they have progressed since using these books! I love that the series teaches everything from Theory to Performance!

Just what we needed for the piano lessons.

It is hard to review a music book with just notes on every page, but here goes: The book is printed on heavy paper. The cover is printed on a business card stock type paper an UV coated for extra protection. The great thing about Bastien piano books is that they teach you with a great variety of popular classics which were composed by masters.

I like giving my kids the performance books so that they have pieces that they can enjoy musically at their level. The lesson books by themselves can become disinteresting

This is the only series of piano books out there that has really stood the test of time. I first came in contact with them when I was grade school and taking piano lessons myself. 30 years later, they are the only books I teach from. I enjoy the pace they use and the progression of skills that they offer. So often books skip around or don't build well on previous skills. That is not the case with Bastien.

Piano teacher recommended it, and my daughter loves quite some songs out of the book.

My 8 year old's piano instructor had us buy this book for lessons. It's well organized with colorful pictures accompanying each song to keep kids interested (you know how kids are these days...). Recommended for semi-beginners
