Fast Math: Learn the Secrets of Mental Math: By Using Vedic Math and Other Math Tricks to Perform Mental Calculations from Multiplication to Percentages without Calculators Paperback – July 18, 2017

I am an instructional coach for Math and I use this book when I push into classes to help with classroom centers.

The concepts introduced look like they will be great however maybe there was too much emphasis on "fast" instead of "accurate". Early on, in fact on page 6 there are two math problems, example A and B where you shown how the Vedic Addition process works. I tried them both and got different answers on them both. I tried and retried, broke out my calculator and discovered that my answers were right while those in the book were incorrect. For answer A everything was accurate upto the final answer (209 + 29 = 219) not the given answer of 209. Also answer B had a mistake in the 3rd column (300 + 400 + 500 + 200 + 900 = 2300) not the given answer of 2400, which will affect the final answer. Everything esle in the demonstrated answer is correct so the final answer should be 2481 not 2581. Wow first two problems were wrong. Isn't math an exact discipline. I gave this a 4 star as this has helped me better understand that I need to trust the process and double check my work. Thanks looking forward to continuing my study of the processes presented in the book. All good.

As a professional engineer, I needed to brush'en up my math. My mind has become slower with age. This book definitely helped learn a few tricks to use at work and everyday life.

Bought this book to help teach my kids! We were able to greatly improve their mental math skills with help from the topics discussed in the book.

The book in itself is good, but the author is not proofreading and there are mistakes in some calculation, I.e. the addition where the answer he says is 209, is really 219

This may be the cure for math phobia. I only wish I had learned math this way. It's actually fun!
