I've been using this gadget for several months so far. It works great with my macbook. I can easily connect an external monitor using an HDMI cable, making it an extended screen. Standalone keyboard and mouse combo can be used with the conventional USB ports at the side. This boosts up my productivity, especially when coding. The power output from the USB port is sufficient to charge my Nexus smartphone. It seems that it can charge two smartphones simultaneously, but I don't have the chance to test it. All my USB devices are working fine with this gadget, including some engineering development platforms like arduino, Teensy, Android Studio, etc. I only used the SD card slot a few times to import pictures taken by a digital camera. It was working smoothly. One extra thing worth mentioning is that the aluminum enclosure is well manufactured, with a great surface finishing.

Convenient. Great way to keep all devices in one place for charging.

Garbage. When using a micro usb or other peripheral, when you remove the power source usb-c plug from the other side, it causes the peripherals to lose connection. You have to unplug and replug back in or in the case of micro usb, remove the device and reinsert it. Also when plugging in, often times the mac won't connect or recognize it. You have to keep plugging in and hoping for a connection. At first I thought it was my laptop, but when I use other friends' dongles, they work fine. It's extremely frustrating and for $69 its a rip-off, especially since the paint is starting to wear around the edges after just 4 months in a padded computer case.

Really good adapter, just very confusing considering how expensive this was. Very cheap packaging, very cheap adapter. Made in China. Disappointing. No different then a cheaper one.

Really good item, I like it a lots as the workmanship is great and the material is nice. The cable is heavy duty enough for long term use and the bottom of the hub have 4 little stand that make the item know as carefully designs. I like it overall. It work very well with my mac book. Also, the color is nice. I know this will last me for years compare to the cheap one i bought before. This is worth the money and I will recommend for my friends ! Who actually ask me if I pay over 100 for it ... HAHAHAHA :P

I purchased USB hub because I just recently needed to view pics and video from a MicroSD card on a computer. This hub has many functions and would come in handy for anyone owning a macbook. I, unfortunately, am not one of those people, so I ended up giving the the hub to my sister. She is enjoying the ability to load the SD cards from her Canon onto her MAC computer effortlessly. During the time that I had it, I was able to to charge my fitbit, and my mom’s fitness bracelet - so all was not a loss for me. I am hoping my mistake will ensure others don’t make the same mistake and buy it for the wrong operating system.

Works exactly as expected, was worried it might not function well with chrome OS but so far that hasn't been a problem.
