New VSV EGR Vacuum Switch Purge Valve Solenoid For Mazda Protege 626 K5T49090

I bought this to replace the VRIS and fuel pressure regulator vacuum solenoids for my 1995 Ford Probe GT (this would cross reference with 1993-1997 Ford Probes, Mazda MX6, Mazda 626, Mazda Millennia and I found this part number in a Mazda MPV at the junk yard). Strangely, the connectors would not seat and would hard stop about 4mm from where it should. If you look at the old and new solenoids. They look exactly the same, but I think there must be a slight difference in the molding. In the electrical connector, you can see 2 locating pins. They are made of plastic, but they must be slightly off. I just took a mini needlenose pliers and broke them off at the base. My connector slipped right in. No issues. They function perfectly and my check engine light turned off. For function it gets 5-stars, the fact that I had to hack it to make it work it gets 1-star. Average is 3 stars. The part numbers match my application. I'll add photos later
