BAYCOSL-8904 Cord Management & Reels, Yellow

I have had a few of these in our garage for many years. They have held up through everything. This was a gift for someone else, and I knew I could count on it.

Good idea. Doesn’t retract all the way

After several years, my Northern 40 foot, 12 gauge, reel failed. I wanted a better quality product, but there seems to be a large gap between the inexpensive and very pricey reels, with nothing in the middle. After reading reviews and being interested in the extra 10 feet of cord, I opted for this 50' model. Initial impressions: (1) the cord cover is much softer than the Northern reel and I won't expect it to hold up well on my exposed aggregate concrete; (2) the take-up device works ok, but seems to be rather crude and noisy - acceptable if it continues to function properly. So far, it does take up the cord with less hassle than the Northern model.3/25/2021: Now, after all these years the reel is still working and the cord has held up quite well. Have to give it 4 stars now.

Product arrived quickly, and was what was described. I have only been using the item for around 2 months, but it seems to be working well.My only small complaints would be the length of the wall plug cord, I didn't measure it, but it seems 6" to 1' shorter than most I have had in the past, it made it a little tricky for mounting, and the lag bolts that came with it snapped while tightening. I did drill a pilot hole, but apparently not big enough for these, but since I had lag bolts laying around it was no big deal for me.

This unit replaced on with out a reset so one trip on the old cord and it was trash. Always buy one with a resettable fuse like this model.

I have had two of these. The first one blew apart after owning a little over a year, while I was trying to pull the cord during an extremely cold morning. The plastic inside became brittle and the spring mechanism busted. The second has been good for a couple of years even during some cold days. I mounted a plug on the first cord and it makes a strong extension cord. I’m impressed with the quality of the cord.The short cord on the plug has never been a problem as I have mounted an outlet near where I wanted it. It does have to be rewound carefully or it won’t all fit in the housing, but that’s never been a big deal.

Had this product for 6 months now. Seems to be fairly well made. The cord itself, and molded 4 outlet end, are good quality. The issues with this product have already been mentioned. The cord that plugs into the wall is inexcusably short! One star removed for this flaw. The case that the cord retracts to is also too small. Second star removed. The last 10' of cord has to be manually crammed into it, being careful that the cord lays as flat as possible on the roll, or it will jam.For this price, I would have expected the cord to fully retract on its own. It's does what I need it to do, but a little disappointed with the two issues mentioned.

This is literally the cheapest 12ga 50' cord reel you can buy. With that in mind its a great value. I've only had it up a week or so but it seems quite good. As others have stated the recoil could be better. Its as if they had a housing that fit 30 or 40 feet of cord well and someone had the idea to jam 50' into it. Regardless it still retracts good enough. I'd buy it again. Overall pleased, its shortcomings can be overlooked for that it is hundreds of dollars cheaper then comparable reels.

Good bang for the buck, but they should include a proper rewinder that coils it correctly. Most of the time, it can take me 10 minute of screwing around to get it all up in the reel

Cord holder should be larger so the cord doesn't need to wrap up neatly to fitotherwise a good cord.

I mounted in my shop to only returnfor refund. The cord is too big for the reel. A heavy 12/3 cord like this needs more room to be rolled up. I didn't want to have to hand feed back on the spool considering it was 10 feet up on the roof. Don't waste your money.
