Buying these in bulk is the only way to go.
We have some pretty fickle weather here on the high desert with a last frost date of June 20th so almost everything gets started indoors. We tried these years ago as part of the kits that had a plastic base and clear plastic cover but we didn’t get many pellets, the kits were pricey and the plastic trays/covers didn’t hold up well to use. We moved on to started pots but that was tedious work filling them and they took up a lot op space which made keeping a grow light on them difficult. We now bit the bullet and paid 50-bucks for this lot and they work out perfectly, take little space and can be easily transferred to the outdoors without having to pull anything out of a pot. We keep a few on trays so we can clip the roots to gets a faster growing plant and there’s no need for the trays and covers since we have several indoor greenhouses. No complains and it’s surprising how quickly we can go though a bunch of pellets.

The Perfect Size
I've tried other sizes of these peat pellets and mostly the larger ones have only taken up more space in the greenhouse. The 36mm is big enough to get seeds started and well rooted. For every herb I've tried, the rule of thumb has been "transplant when there are two true leaves." I put the started herbs into 4" market pots (40 to a flat) and get nearly 100% success. Will definitely buy again and would definitely buy for friends.

Perfect for starting seeds
These were Perfect for starting seeds then put them in small pots after they sprouted. Not all seeds germinated so I didn’t waste time filling and emptying pots. Will be able to reuse the pods where the seeds didn’t take.In addition to using the pod trays, i also put smaller amounts in the leftover/takeout clamshell containers and baked chicken containers... after washing of course. Easier to move them around.

I will be buying these every year!
These pellets worked great for me. I started my garden early in my green house and most of the seeds were sprouting within a week. Two weeks later I transferred them to my raised beds, just picked up the whole thing and put them in the soil. They have really taken off since then.I like the 36mm the best for vegetable seeds, no need for the extra size like the 42mm.

Good Value
These came in a plastic bag, not in a box as I expected. They were in perfect condition though, none were broken. They are good sized, do the job and are a good valueFor free shipping I would have given 5 stars.

work nice
They work just like they are supposed to. They are the small ones so if your doing larger faster growing veggies like Zucchini or cucumbers you should get larger ones (50 mm).
