I ordered the 1-7/8" (48 mm) Flex-Hone tool for my 47 mm bore. I did this because of what is printed on the tool itself and in the photos for this product on Amazon:Tool diameter is determined by the nominal bore size in which the tool is to operate.The Flex-Hone Tool is always produced and used in an oversize condition. The degree of oversize creates a soft cutting action.For example, a 1" Flex-Hone size is ordered if a 1" bore is to be finished and the tool is provided oversized.If the bore size is between standard Flex-Hone sizes, the next larger standard Flex-Hone should be selected.For instance, if the nominal bore is 1.093", then the 1-1/8" Flex-Hone is ordered.However, my 47 mm bore is tapered (I found out the hard way) and as a result I could not insert the 48 mm Flex-Hone tool into the bore more than about 60% as even with oil the friction was too great and the the drill could not hold tight enough to the tool's shaft to keep it spinning. It would be great if there were 46 mm, and 47 mm Flex-Hone tools...

I use this to hone transmission tail housing bushings when they are a little undersized when pressing a new bushing in. Works very well for this.
